I hate seaside. My wife drags me to that stupid book store every time we are down there.

I grew up going there for summer vacations and loved it. I went back for a wedding a few years ago and it blew my mind how crowded it was. The town looked like an awful place to vacation

Me: We seem to be in a F..KIN PICKLE then. I’d like my money back.

Would have been better if you said the customers there stood up and applauded.

She was being a count, but you were wrong for trying to be difficult about an order at a busy arse place.
I hate the beach restaurant scene during holiday times and try to avoid all of these kind of places

The cashier seemed to be a manager, as she was the one who got my money back out of the register.

This doesn't make sense though. You clearly had not yet alinged on what exactly you were ordering, so how was your money already in the register?

I have never seen a restaurant use different fries on a kids menu and I have never seen a restaurant up charge for a bottle of water.

They do it all the time. The bottle of water costs the restaurant more than a paper cup, some soda water, and the cola syrup. So they charge extra for it.

Probably the same situation with the fries. Those mass produced face fries are probably cheaper than whatever the regular fries are.

admit I was wrong. But I’ll never go back to Pickles. I have never seen a restaurant use different fries on a kids menu and I have never seen a restaurant up charge for a bottle of water.

We do the Seaside trip also. Stay away from those food trucks, every single food truck at any town in La, MS, or TX is better than the best ones in SS. They are way over priced, head back towards Destin area to eat. I know the Pickles place you are talking about, never ate there though. You can drive 5 minutes away and find much better options to eat.

Now that it's exploded with tourism, they can charge whatever they want and people will pay for it

Its called rent. People don't seem to understand that top locations are always going to be expensive as hell because their own bills are expensive as hell. $4 waters are absurd but so are $10 bud lights somewhere like a baseball game or NYC.

Pickles is expensive because its a prime location, they up charge for everything because that's how they make their money. You don't go to a place like Pickles because it has great food, you go there because you are staying around there and its close by.

Every dining place in Seaside is overrated and overpriced.

We walked out of Pickles once while waiting in line because the girl at the cash register was so rude to people ordering. Maybe being rude is their thing? That was the only time I'd been in there.

I still remember the Burger King "have it your way" commercials. I was too young at that point to know if that was actually a new idea or not, but there's a lot of places that prefer you not "have it your way" due to taste or convenience of the restaurant.

Its not always about the customer, its about selling a product and most customers being happy enough with it they make money.

Welcome to 30A. Home of overpriced mediocre food

Family and I are the easiest to please at restaurants or cookings there is. People can invite us over and have the worst moment of their lives in the kitchen and we’d still enjoy the food. 6 of us went to do the food trucks a few years back and we all divided up and overall went to 3-4 different food trucks. It was small portions, bad food, and way too expensive. Wife and one of my daughters went to a barbecue joint and spent nearly $30 with a spoonful of beans, spoonful of potato salad, and very small chicken breast, and a can coke. I had visions of burning the place down. My other daughter spent $10 on a hotdog and didn’t get a drink. Me and boys got burgers that McDonalds would have put to shame. We don’t do the food trucks anymore, also way too crowded and busy.

After I asked for bottle water and was paying she put a cup of water on the counter. My money was in the register for about 10 seconds.
