Torchys knows it’s market and it’s perfect for college towns
They also are very selective and deliberate with expansion to maintain quality unlike izzos and lit pizza that want to be on every corner by sacrificing quality

Had it a couple times in Houston. It's not bad but I've had a lot better tacos before.

Interesting. I always compliment them on their quality even though they have so many locations. I think they do a great job.
Throw in Rocca, and they are impressive to me. I’m sure Modesto will be great too.

I'm not a big Torchy's fan. I'd MUCH rather Fuzzies. I got a taco at Torchy's once.. and the sauce they put on it was supposed to be one of their hotter ones. And it was... but it also had the HORRIBLE after taste. Like I had to go buy gum right after eating.

If you ain't open at 5:30 serving breakfast tacos the your just another Tex-Mex restaurant. Torchy's started off as a breakfast taco food truck...now they are a tex-mex wanabe!

I have tasted no decrease in lit pizza quality since opening. Izzo’s protein portions have noticeably declined since they first opened, but most of that happened long before they really started expanding in a meaningful way. Lit and Izzo’s seem to be remarkably consistent quality franchises and Rocca is crazy good.
As for Torchy’s, I’ll likely give them a shot this week. I ate at one in Houston and left very full and happy, so my expectations are high.

They’re not supposed to be the same. They’re a completely different kind of thing, but also delicious in their own way. There is enough room in the culinary world for traditional Mexican street tacos like at La Morenita and fusion cuisine tacos from a place like Torchy’s.

I see I received a few downvotes for saying Ki Mexico is better than Torchy's. Not bothered by the downvotes but just curious why you disagree? What do you like more about Torchy's? Maybe I'm missing something.
