The igloo meatloaf may be the only thing I would eat from that list

Share some of your favorite vintage dishes.

I happen to love a good tomato aspic and one with shrimp is even better. I was glad it didn't make this list.

That and gelatin. I was trying to remember some of the gelatin salads my grandmothers made. I can only recall tomato aspic, but I like that one. Seems like there were some others, though, that I actually ate. Maybe I liked Jello a lot then.

My Mom also used it for spinach madeline and so did I. I still mourn the loss. That Parker's brand is pretty awful and just doesn't work as a sub.

I don't know if it is "vintage" (I'm 25, so I wasn't around for the things in the link).. but I will always love Watergate Salad.

Ah, the good ol' days of stay at home wives trying to impress their man with awkward Betty Crocker recipes.

I've never seen any of the dishes in the pictures in the article I linked. I have a hard time believing the woman of the 50's and 60's served that banana candle even as naive as they may have perhaps been. I just can't see it.

Gee, I love the pineapple of peach with the mayo, shredded cheese and cherry on top. There's something about the mayo and the salt in the mayo that just goes with the sweet fruit.

That green fluff picture reminded me of my grandmother's marshmallow fluff dish that I still love. I make it most Thanksgivings as a homage to her. My Mom likes and so does my sister's mother-in-law and a few of the kids.

1 pt whipping cream, whipped
Chop together-1 can Royal Anne white cherries,1 large can sliced pineapple, 1 pint bottle red cherries (reserve the juice)
½ lb marshmallows
1 c pecans (probably chopped a bit)
2 envelopes Knox gelatin
4 T Durkee’s

Soak gelatin in the red cherry juice. Season whipped cream with Durkee’s. Add to fruit, nuts and gelatin.

Refrigerate until serving.

I think the banana ham and hollandaise would be good especially with caramelized bananas. Also, the liver wurst pineapple looks weird but I would eat it

The lobster relish and the steak puddings look good too
