How are these compared to Cutco knives?

Not in the same class. The one in OP doesn’t hold an edge even just cutting soft vegetables

As dumb as I am, I never post anything about a knife here. I simply can't take the grief from the comments.

I like this bad boy.

$120.00 Dovo Classic Cut Throat Razor. Holds an edge well. Will shave a peach and once you learn how to handle it, you can cut almost anything as many times as needed. After a little practice you can cut many times before that anything can even move.

Not sure about the ffp version, but my regular fibrox holds an edge decently and cuts better than the $30 price tag suggests.

For $30 you could do a lot worse

It's my main kitchen knife. Fits my hand well, and it sharpens up just fine with a few swipes of the Accusharp ($10) and a pass or two on a honing steel.

Lord knows I have spent some money on kitchen equipment, and I would do the same for a knife. But I like this cheapie so much that I put the others aside. Bought an extra one that sits in the box just in case.

For $30, give it a shot if you want/need a new knife.

Just not true at all. These things are about as bulletproof as a kitchen knife can get.

As far as knives go, the steel is adequate, but not good or great.

The handle is durable but doesn't have a good feel. It's also not weighted great.

It's a great value for $30. As far as quality knives go, it doesn't hold up.

I have a victorinox bread knife, pairing knife, and boning knife. They work great for short term use, but they just aren't great chefs knives in my opinion.

To each his own.

I always keep a bunch of knives in my Amazon (saved for later) cart because prices can jump around. For instance, since you began this thread, the price went down to $27.77.

I've just checked my cart and there was this message...

Victorinox Fibrox Pro Chef's Knife, 8-Inch Chef's has increased from $27.77 to $44.93

I've always wondered what makes prices jump around so much. Curious to know if the price spiked because of multiple hits from us on this thread.

With that said, I always keep my various sized foodsaver rolls in my cart. It's amazing how the prices change.

I like my Victorinox. I love my Global. It feels great in my small hands and it is practically weightless.

Victorinox gets used often though. Great for the price.

I do agree it's a great bang for your buck.

But holding a really nice, well weighted, razor sharp knife with a smooth handle is the best.

It is very light. I would like the weight of the knife to do a little more of the work than this does.

I’ve got a whole block of this series and they don’t hold an edge very well. I’ve been very disappointed.

I'm not going to say it's the best knife in the world, but I got a 6" version about a month ago and the thing arrived sharp as a scalpel and is super easy to keep sharp. Can dice a smoked big brisket flat into tiny cubes for dog training treats and the knife is still razor sharp. Haven't noticed any issues prepping vegetables. It may not last for "X" years, but look at the price. If people don't like them they can return them within 30-days for full refund.
