Does Chicken Shack still do plate lunches? I haven't been since pre-Covid but I used to like their pig tails lunch

I hear David's Tiger Express on Joor has terrific plate lunches. Like legit, serious plate lunches. Not convenience store shite.
Not all its cracked up to be. Not to mention how much of an a-hole the guy could be. Nicer than his pops but that isn't saying a lot.

Not lunch, but calandros breakfast box is amazing. Best biscuits in BR.

Thursday beef tips at Reeves use to be the best in town. They stopped making them...
DUMB.
My wife has gotten pretty good with meatloaf and beef tips though. Problem is we pay for beef tips for what I use to buy steaks for.

Dorothy's on Gardere GOAT
I live down the road off Nicholson in the Lexington/UClub area. Found out about Dorothy’s after 2020. They only sell plate lunches out the front door due to Covid. No problem. I’m just not paying $22 for a rib plate plus tax & tip to eat it in my truck.
Never been and won’t until I can sit inside and make a mess for them to clean up for $22. Sorry Dorothy
Don Bergeron’s has been a staple for me since they were further down Jefferson almost to Government. Definitely the best I know of in town.

I hit up Bergeron's on Jefferson at least twice per week
Is that location the same owners as the one that was next to Churchills a few years back?
Also, is it a sit down place, or a grab and go?

Stockyard is great.
Sharon's on Plank almost to Baker has always been good.
Tony's is good.
LeBlanc's in Zachary is good but it's really hard to pass up their hamburgers for a plate lunch.
Gas station on Oneal and Old Hammond has a good fish and red bean option (for a gas station). Fish is on point, simply done right. Red beans aren't a classic homemade style but taste good enough for lunch.
Jett's Gas Station in Zachary is good as well, about the same as the Oneal station.

it has been a long time since i've in BR but i have a hard time believing they doubled their prices

Your choice. I usually order to-go but they have plenty of tables for people who want to dine in.

Well, inflation is a bitch right now, bud.

I'm kinda surprised you haven't already had them. the Breakfast hot box is awesome.

They have drastically increased their prices over the years.
We've had 2 bad experiences there in the past few months. One time my wife got vegetable beef soup and it was very greasy with ZERO beef. Tasted bad too. Another time I got smothered chicken and my plate barely had any chicken meat and the greens tasted like they had been cooked the day before as it was very mushy and oily.
2 plates and drinks and tip and its 40+dollars. We wont be going back. I used to love that place too. Sad what it became.

Never cared much for Zeeland. Only place I've ever been to where the gumbo had carrots in it.

Actually, the prices on that menu you posted are higher than they were the last time I went. Poorman's Special was $4 or $4.50 I believe.
I doubt they increased the prices even higher than that but then again I haven't been since pre-Covid
