There's a guy based in New Orleans who has thrown similar hypocritical shade at Parish on Facebook.

Similar to r2r, he got married and became a better person. Therefore he doesn't post much anymore.

Well, damn. Another FBDer that married up. I'm pretty sure his wife doesn't mind if he posts here. I think he just got tired of us...

Had a grace and grit with him earlier. Said it was a malty mess. But he doesn't understand balanced beers.

Scott made me drink one last night as I was trying to leave Courtyard. I will say this -- it went from being undrinkable to being pretty good. I think it would pair nicely with a loaded baked potato. That green onion nose would complement nicely. Jokes aside, it wasn't SUPER pronounced, but it was there. You can't even put it in the same conversation as Ghost, however. Ghost just has such a unique and lean malt bill, it never really skews towards being sweet. Grace and Grits will, given time.

Agree with all this. Had some more last night and I liked it. Put it in 12oz cans, and I'd buy a decent amount of it. Bombers are becoming a hard sell for me. You just don't get value from them at all. I get why breweries do it, since the margins are so much better, but they just aren't good for the consumer.

I would personally like if they took a touch of the red out of Commotion as well. If Commotion was the same color as this batch of G&G, I'd be happy.

I understand what you're saying. However, you don't really taste a lot of malt. You are really just getting color. Granted i don't want it the color of the old G&G. When i drank it a couple months ago, the color was offputting, but the hop notes were really good. I'll need to pour another commotion in a glass. Most of commotion drinking is straight from the can.

And yes, i did get green onion out of the last cans of commotion i had. I think it was a january batch. I'm willing to bet the farm it's the mosaic varietal. Seeing that a lot lately with the current crop of Mosaic being sold.

Oh i agree. Just saying i don't find the darker malts gets in the way of commotion. I honestly didn't find it offputting in the G&G, but i would have rathered it lighter.

My guess is they put a touch of dark crystal malt. However reading the website...

Pale, Munich, Honey, White Wheat,

That must be a bunch of munich, unless that recipe is the new batch.

Side note, i heard Crescent Crown is living up to their shitty reputation again after yesterday.

I'd prefer a bit less of it. It would make it a more crushable and easy drinker.

Could be dark Munich. But I don't really know.

What happened? I bought some singles at Calandro's yesterday, but apparently missed out on Grace and Grit. Was curious to see what it was priced.

Well, they didn't get them any G&G, and they were missing half of their shipments that was supposed to come in. I think a lot of it was other Left Hand SKU's. I managed to snag a couple left hand, and the Terrapin single origin coffee stouts.
