Not to take sides, but:
Wasn't the early 2015 envie/canebrake when it really got bad? As in bottles literally exploding on people due to terrible carb issues?
I'm not sure how this is a jab at Parish. They were making a sub par APA. Great Raft made a better one. Parish then improved theirs significantly. Did Parish improve theirs because of commotion? Unlikely, but the ideas of competition and motivation should't be forgotten.

So did Great Raft Ghostify Grace and Grit because of Ghost?
His posts come across as petty to me as a representative of the brewery. What good can come of that? None.
ETA: And from a brewery who meticulously controls their image and branding, it's odd to see one of their employees acting like that on a beer forum.

yea i know, i thought envie was classified as an IPA and not an APA, its a tough choice between commotion and envie

1) LSURoss admitted that he worked for Great Raft some time ago.
2) So what that he's promoting commotion. It is a damn fine pale ale. All of their beers are pretty good.

In regards to reformulating recipes, Great was the first to do it, no? I'm not saying Parish copied Great Raft, but i would think Parish might have been inspired by GR that they could completely retool a recipe under the same name and have success. Most breweries just continue pumping out the same terrible product and later decide to create another beer to replace.
I do see the validity in some of the comments about the "constant needling", but has it really been constant, or just those 3 instances? Some of it seems more like harmless jabbing than intentionally coming after another brewery.
But anyway, Ross, as another has said, will the price of your bombers drop any? I like the beer, but $12.99 for the equivalent of 2 beers is a bit much. And if this price point is any indication, y'alls sour stuff will undoubtedly be unaffordable. (For the same reason i don't buy Bruery sours, though i'd really love to try one, $19.99 and up for any sour is ridiculous.)
Is this something you can speak to or is this an issue kept more closely to the vest? For the record, i'm sure you probably won't have any trouble selling your bombers at this price, at least for the first go round. But for us repeat offenders of your beer, i'd like to be able to buy them at more of a lagunitas price point (6.99-8.99). I would say $8.99 is more than fair for a bomber.
But hey, i'm not in beer sales, so what do i know.

No dog in the fight here. I was lucky enough to try envit a couple weeks ago and it's top notch. I haven't had a chance for commotion yet but hear it's very good. Anyone who loves beer in La. Should be very pleased to have both and not acting like apple fan boys

I found those in about 30 seconds with a search. There are more that I recall, but I don't have time to search every post.
But the point is that you don't see brewery employees from Parish or NOLA or Abita or whoever here making snide comments about other Louisiana breweries. It's one thing for you and me to do it, but we don't work for a brewery.
To me, it's petty and unnecessary. It's one thing to give out info or even toot your own horn. But the snide comments about other breweries on a public forum make me think less of the one he's representing.

Frankly, i don't think anything of it, but i honestly wasn't even aware of it until you posted the screenshots earlier.
And was i mistaken about the price point of at arms length and grace and grit at the 2 locations? I could have sworn they were $12.99 each. I could be mistaken, however.

I can get 4 ghosts for $12.99. That is perfectly reasonable. 1 GR at the same place costs me the same.
I would like some input from Ross since he knows more about this, however i've asked the question about price several times and it never gets answered. So i'm assuming he either A) can't speak to it because that's not his arena or B) doesn't want to address it.
I'm leaning more towards A because based on here, LSURoss seems like a good guy.

Ross and Andrew (through Ross) have actually addressed this several times on this board. Andrew admits that G&G is expensive. I don't feel like digging through Ross's posts but its in there and it explains why the price is what it is.
It is $12 at the brewery. Stores here typically sell it for $10-$12.
No idea why stores down there are making it up to $13-$14, but that isn't GR. That is the store.
