I’ve wanted to stop at Brett’s a couple of times for enchilada day but it never works out. They look really good.
Everytime I drive through Waco it’s going from Fort Worth to Austin or vise versa and neither hellberg or guess or open at the times I drive through. We do always stop at a Czech shell station for kolaches though lol.

BR doesn't settle for garbage, hence why we don't have any BBQ places
Baton Rouge isn't some BBQ mecca but don't we have a few places that make good BBQ? The Shed, Hanna Q, and BRQ are bad?

Greens and spoon bread very good. Brisket was basic BR bbq. Fatty, no smoke ring and very small portion. Overall B- understanding it’s week 1.
The greens are my favorite dish. Can make a meal out of the pint. THe spoonbread is delicious too.
I had really good brisket Sunday but I understand they are struggling with consistency right now.
The pulled pork, sausage, and ribs we had last Thursday were all damned good. I really like the garlicky bbq sauce they have too.
Oh and the Orzo salad is frickin amazing and tangy. It's basically, maters, feta, cucumbers, and orzo but frickin delicious.

To the internet food snobs here? Yes of course.

They’re not really bad, but once you’ve had legit bbq in TX nothing around BR really comes close. Oak and smoke is definitely the best bbq in BR

The Shed is really bad, no matter what kind of BBQ you have had before

Baton Rouge isn’t Texas. We don’t have Texas style restaurants here. We may not have good Texas style barbecue, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have good barbecue.
Many on this board need to be happy with what we have and stop crapping on everything in BR all the time. There are many barbecue restaurants in BR. If you can’t find a barbecue meal that you like, you just suck at life.

I’d counter and say instead of settling for mediocre bbq that bbq restaurants in Baton Rouge need to do better.

I gave up on BR BBQ years ago when the constant suggestion on this board for where to go was whole foods.
The initial comment I was replying to makes it sound like we've had good BBQ here and we just didn't support it. That hasn't happened

It's hyperbolic, but the difference is so vast. It's hard to convey just how far and away better it is. At least hard to do it and not sound like a snob/jerk.
If something is objectively vastly better than something else, why does it have to be snobby to prefer it?

There's not many photos on The Shed's Yelp page, but here is a shot of the brisket ..

It isn't snobby. Don't listen to that dipshit 6&B

Name calling now? I never said it was snobby, what are you talking about?

Comparing texas/nc bbq to br bbq is like comparing shwag to some gas.
They just arent in the same stratosphere.
