You listed 30 places. I think fitzmorris says there’s about 1300 restaurants in the area. I think he’ll be fine.

The thing about Turkey and the Wolf is deep down Mason and his team really care and enjoy feeding people. Is there a layer of fun, which can border on gimmick, over their online presence? Yes. But at the end of the day, they are doing something they love and have a passion for the restaurant business.

That is why years after it has opened it is still successful and the "gimmick" isnt a a gimmick, its just who they are. And yes Dan Stein makes very good sandwiches as well and has a schtick all his own. Pretty sure, turkey and the Wolf has always given props to Stein's for bringing non-Po boy sandwiches to the city.

All of which ignores the fact that their food is utterly delicious. Just wish they would bring back the Italian Deli Sandwich.

PS Also love how the knock is "they serve a bologna sandwich...one I eat when fishing." Please take me fishing with you so I can compare your bologna sandwich.

I’d imagine majority of restraunteurs and chefs are left leaning, so if that’s the hill you want to die on then I suggest not going out to eat anymore.

Don't care if they are left leaning. Having a bake sale for abortions is a whole different ball game.

Yeah, no they didn't. I think there was a list of them, and once the owners found out, some of them retracted and said their chefs would not participate.

Left leaning normally encapsulates pro-choice/reproductive rights. To conservatives, pro-choice = pro-abortion. So, not really far off. But I digress, not getting into any of that here.

Here is the list

LINK

Restaurants i have been to that i will not patronize again, or ones i have not been but wanted to go to or at least heard good things about...

La Boca
Toups
Congregation Coffee - Hate that because i love their gallop blend, but there are plenty more coffee makers.
Bachanall
Couquette
Compere Lapin
Peche
Cochon
Company Burger

Not a date night killer for me and the wife. Plenty of other good restaurants in the city.

Again, if that is your opinion, fine. I vehemently disagree with it, but whatever.

However, the difference between me patronizing an establishment and avoiding one, is when a group of SJW virtue signaling douche's decide it's a great idea to signal to the world "i am raising money to abort more babies".

That is where the line is drawn.

And boycotting their establishments is what? Not virtue signaling?

God I hate the current political climate of this country.

No. It's choosing to spend my money elsewhere. I guess my post of me telling everyone here could be construed as "virtue signaling". But the act itself of not patronizing restaurants or chefs because they decide to do stupid shite, in itself, is not virtue signaling.

I don't consider abortion "political". It's a matter of life/death. Sure it's been turned political, but it's means more. The least i can do is not give those people money to act this way.

Dont you think there is a big difference between an establishment participating in a fundraiser (be it abortion or save the coast or heart association) and visiting the restaurant itself?

The money you spend in a restaurant isnt going to support causes you dont believe in. Its paying for ingredients, electricity, salaries, rent, etc... maybe $1-3 goes in the owners pocket and of that who knows what they spend it on.

Im a pretty conservative person but if you are gonna boycott restaurants for the fundraisers they decide to support gonna get in the weeds in a hurry.

Last post I swear....mainly bc I have to get work done today.

But by the literal definition of virtue signaling, boycotting an establishment because they support something you deem immoral is virtue signaling. In your opinion, abortion is immoral...if something is immoral, it is not a virtue. So, from your point of view, a bake sale supporting reproductive rights is actually not virtue signaling. Boycotting a restaurant because of a perceived higher moral standard actually is.

Okay, done ruining the thread now. Back to the sandwiches.

Ok, cool. Don't go. I'm pretty annoyed by restaurants making overt political messages as well.

But this thread is about the food at T&W, so could we keep it that way.

Honestly, I challenge anyone to go get that Pork and Peppers sandwich and tell me they don't think its fantastic.

The place puts out great food even if they are fricktards.

Really, it's my choice. I am principled about some things, and abortion is one i feel strongly about. You may feel different. By all means, continue to go to these places. I, however, will not.

love a bologna sandwich on the boat when I’m chasing reds and specks around Larose.

When I’m in the city, that’s a hard pass. Glad others enjoy the place though.

Not sure what his home cooking has to do with his preferences when he's paying money to eat out.
