Can confirm. I'm a low-key trashy Bama resident, and I prefer Diet Dr Thunder to Dr Pepper or Mr Pibb products. Also love some Mountain Dew, especially the zero. They need to bring it back in the cans.

I’ll admit I liked Dr Pepper, for a week, back when I was discovering all the different sodas, but this was early 90’s and I was told Diet Pepsi was the right one baby

A Baptist church group was hauling kids to a New Mexico camp in several vehicles. One driver/parent had Dr. Thunder, Faygo, and other cheap drinks in the cooler, while the others had "fancy" Coke and Dr. Pepper.
Pretty soon, none of the kids wanted to ride in the Dr. Thunder vehicle. Feelings were hurt, and eventually one parent threatened to whip another parent's "G** D*** arse all over this parking lot."
