Was unaware this was a thing but this is a PSA for those who have a want.

Nola eater pilfers our stuff so what the hell

“The best brunches are such a drag.

Entertainment at brunch featuring talented drag queens is a thing not just in New Orleans, but in cities like Miami, Baltimore, and even across the pond in London. In her new book Drag Queen Brunch, local food celeb Poppy Tooker puts the spotlight on talented local performers including artist and cover girl Vinsantos and the dynamic Laveau Contraire. Deliciously photographed by the talented Sam Hanna, the book includes recipes, stories, and a history of drag in New Orleans.

What drag brunch is not: quiet, retiring, shy, boring. If it’s a lively glammed-up tasty good time you seek, then read on. Note: Most drag brunches are pop-ups, some happen every other week and others every weekend. This just in, Laveau Contraire is hosting two pop ups Oct. 19 and 26 with The Benedetti Group at Borgne in the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. The first brunch feataures Dusty Ray Bottoms of RuPaul’s Drag Race, former Miss Gay New Orleans USofA Britney DeLorean and the fish who fled from Hawaii (Slenderella). The second brunch spotlights Farrah Moan of Rupaul’s Drag Race , the delightful Debbie with a D (Joey Bean) and the slayer from St. Louis, (Siren). Check online or call to reserve.”

I have heard it is really fun if you are gay or a female.

Also heard that Country Club is the best.

Apparently there is a burlesque brunch at SoBou and The Library on Prytania.

Besides Parlor they are all in the FQ and Marigny. Seems pretty fitting to do this.

Same reason I wouldn't eat at a strip club.

Dressing in drag doesn't have to be sexualized, but I'm not sure I have ever seen it not done that way

Yeah, that's a weird move. People who eat at strip clubs should be on a list somewhere.

Eh, like you said, I don't think I've seen it if it isn't.

Lots of folks apparently enjoy these events. I have no desire to attend one.

For me it's one of those things I definitely wouldn't seek out but if I happened to be there and unknowingly it was something like that I don't think I'd care much either.

I went once. Asked for a sausage patty with my eggs. Unfortunately, they gave me a link. Won't return.
