IMO the thread is warranted because he is telling us what actually happened. He saidthey offered to "fix" it but he declined. Why everyone is so uptight about the thread is beyond me.

Nothing on this earth upsets me more than people who treat service workers as though they're below them. The guy made a mistake. He is an individual independent from the restaurant. His mistake isn't representative of the restaurant as a whole.
He might have been having a horrible night, he might be going through issues at home, .. Anything. To be slightly annoyed inwardly for like 5 seconds? Fine. To be annoyed enough to make a thread on a website complaining? Over the top.
If I was dining with someone that upset over a mistake, I'd scratch them off my dinner date list for sure.

The last part in bold for emphasis. I really think there is no better way to judge someone than by how they treat the people that wait on them.

Maybe this thread explains why the guy can't keep a girlfriend for more than a week or afford a dutch oven.

Pompano and soft shell crab? Sounds like you got a deal from the waiter.

If you're really this worked up over a mistake and then "waiting" ten minutes for it to be corrected while having dinner with your loved ones....

Where in my post did I state or say that I in any way treated our server badly? I continued to say thank you when he refilled wine or water glasses, etc. He was still tipped 20-25% (which I would have done as well).

If I feel disappointed that my dinner did not go as planned and post a thread about it on a food forum, I have every right. If you don't agree with this fine, but no need to go inventing ideas on how I treat servers. I worked in the service industry and still do on occasion. I know how people should be treated.

Why you have such contempt for me beyond me. If you don't like my posts, simply don't read them. There is no need for snide remarks...this is not the OT.

Have a Merry Christmas.

I think all of you need more wine. At this time of year, dining out can be an experience. Crowds, parties, short tempers, etc...

Enjoy a nice dinner out with good cocktails , wine, fellowship and don't sweat the small stuff. Enjoy the companionship, the crab and move on. You don't like crab? "excuse me, I ordered the fish, could you please replace this and I'll wait a few minutes." not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.

We all will write a bigger check to the Federal Government after January 1 no matter who you are. Put a crab instead of a fish in the priority list and see where it hits.

People screw up from time to time and that's just life. If this upsets you that much I'm afraid other issues may be involved.

Several of the responders tothe OP seem more upset than the OP. He simply recounted his dining experience on the FDB.

Your point about the hectic nature of dining during this time of year is well made.

You should have taken up his offer to correct the mistake. When a mistake like that is made, the waiter will notify the kitchen of it and the getting you that plate of fish will be top priority. You would've gotten your dish in little to no time. In fact if there were another one made already for another table you may have jumped in line ahead to receive it, depending on the expediter.

Order another glass of wine. A couple of minutes is nothing in good company.

Its that his dining experience wasn't worthy of a thread. They made a mistake like all restaurants do and they offered to fix it.

Next time someone forgets my drink while out dining im gonna make a thread about it

I agree.

Although I'm guessing his history of complaining about stuff quite often probably caused the mob to attack.

Sorry about the surgery. Didn't know about that.

Don't take her to Tommy's.

How was the crab.

I always take a screw up like that as a sign from God I made the wrong selection and eat it and enjoy anyway.

Hell,it's just food.
