Tom Fitzmorris saved NOLA’s food scene after Katrina

Friends,
The city’s restaurant industry faced an unbelievably bleak future in September of 2005. But Tom was the voice of optimism for the entire city. Our politicians were lost, confused, and seeking personal gain. But Tom tirelessly encouraged residents and workers to return, to fight for the city that taste did not forget. He reminded those forced into the Katrina diaspora that to live and eat outside New Orleans wasn’t living at all. “You call that living?” became his trademark rhetorical question. Few questions echo with as much truth as that one.
Tom is doing it again with covid19.
No city in the world has a more devoted, civil, and timely champion for its food than New Orleans with Tom Fitzmorris. None. When all is said and done and he is gone, I will do all I can to have his statue installed on General Lee’s pillar.
Chicken should do what it takes to bring Sir Fitzmorris to Tigerdroppings. Bring NOmenu.com under the Geaux.com banner.
Tastefully Yours,
TulaneLSU

Tom is keeping marginal, blue haired favored, restaurants alive, just like he always has done.

Internet has become much more refined since then. Fitz has not kept up and has been passed up by numerous other resources. Hell, Eater is more interesting .
Tom needs to retire to the northshore and keep tweaking his root beer ham recipe.

Tom Fitzmorris is a worn out hack who has no appreciation for new and inventive food trends and an evolving restaurant and food culture.
If it's not served at Andrea's or if it's not served slathered in a heavy cream sauce, it's shite.

He's got COVID-19? I hope Chef Andrea delivers some soggy salad and old seafood to his door while he quarantines.

Why that’s Chef Andrea’s music...

You call that living?

Good for him, but as much as the people of BR did for the evacuees from NO, he frequently called us every derogatory name in the book. "Cow Town" was the last one I heard before I turned his 'flunked out of Jesuit' arse off for good.
He makes Chuck Schumer look accurate.

Oh I don’t disagree. For all he has done for the food scene. I think he is an arrogant arse hole. My post saying “you call that living?” Was a phase he used every time someone said where they lived. So I replied the same to the post above.
I purely used to listen to him as a guide and what his callers had to say. I hope someone good takes his place. I love a good food talk show when driving.
