Ok, I’m pretty sure he’s just messing with us now.
Nobody outside 504 and 225 has ever heard of him except by happenstance.
Heck, Tom Dempsey is a bigger celebrity.

But I applaud the effort and will continue to follow the lists and other posts.

Friend,

I trust the direction of The Food Show under Tom’s leadership. The way he goes is not influenced by an insignificant listener like I am. He is at the top and he will go out on top. He’s New Orleans’ greatest export over the last half century.

I do find the critics to be utterly amusing.

But it isn't working. Look at what he's been reduced to these last few years.

But he's not "at the top", TulaneLSU. He's been reduced to a radio side show.

And who's "exported" him? Where has he been "exported" to?

A greater export than...Oh, I dunno..Richard Simmons?

Why are you trolling Pandy?

If you think he was rude to callers before, he's catching payback by his wife. I almost feel bad listening to the woman castrate the guy on air everyday. And this from a woman who refuses to appreciate any restaurant that's opened in the last 5 years in the city.

Now is a great time to subscribe The New Orleans Menu daily. Not only do you get to tap into the vast catalog of the greatest food mind in New Orleans history, a portion of the proceeds will go to restaurant and hospitality relief.

Go to nomenu.com/membership and sign up, would ya? Send Mary Ann a note and Tom may send you an autograph, if time permits

Talking about adults playing sports is one of the most debased things I can imagine. His condescension toward people who want to talk pointless rubbish I applaud. His refusal to expand an audience by cheapening it with talk of sports is worthy of our greatest praise. No one in America, nay, the world, has elevated the art of food discussion as had our Tom. How do Tom’s nuts taste ? The gibberish you just opined clearly comes across as an elitist and paints TF as a narcissist. Quite obvious TF only cares about TF. Sad but true.

I respect what Mr. Fitzmorris has meant to the NOLA food scene for decades. His impatient “get off my lawn” mentality has gotten very old, and turned many loyal listeners off. Instead of having an open mind and trying to help people with honest food questions, he ridicules and runs them off. IMO, Tom’s arrogance and senility have ruined a once listenable radio show.

Friend,

Only Butch Duhe's nephew could make such a perfect response. The same who criticize Tom are those who make fun of Lee Corso. What Tom did for food criticism in the world, and most especially in New Orleans, Corso did for College Game Day. The current iteration of the show is part of the arc of Tom's career. Rather than complain and criticize, I am going to relish in it and appreciate it while he is with us. Only when he is gone will these impetuous, feckless slugs understand what they took for granted and mocked.

Yours,

Now that’s not very nice. As a fellow Anglican I would say you need to apologize.

I love Lee Corso.
Never seen him be rude to anyone. He is the opposite of arrogant.
But I get your point. It’s ok for a guy to be a bit bumbling towards the end.

“Impetuous feckless slugs” is fantastic. Love it!

Well not to put too fine 'a point on it TulaneLSU. It's on a very steep downward trajectory.

It saddens me the way you resist change. You want his show to remain this outdated broken record just so you can maintain these stale, romanticized ideals of yours.

If you really want the best for Fitzy, you'll call in and ask him to review your favorite Honduran restaurant.

I used to be. The show became generally repetitive though. He would never branch out into anything beyond the traditional. I pretty much stopped listening when it became clear he could do no more than tell a slightly different version of the same story, over and over again.
