My panties are fine. Im just wondering how opening up a location in N.C. is spreading themselves too thin.

And I'm wondering why a brewery that hasn't exactly dominated the market in LA is now going to expand to a much more competitive market in NC, rather than focus on their current brewery.
If Tin Roof was the undisputed champion of craft beer in LA, I could see it. But from my personal experiences and from what I've read here, they're hit or miss at best and only now (5 years later) starting to put out decent stuff.

The owners of Tin Roof are opening a restaurant/brewery in Raleigh. It won't be called Tin Roof and they'll have different people brewing different things from the Tin Roof location.
Am I missing something?

I'm with you, and I guess I'm missing something. I'm not a TR fanboy by any stretch, but it's not like this hasn't been done before. THe owners are in a position to make an investment into a new area good for them. I don't see this as a negative for the BR business.

That's right, so saying that Tin Roof is expanding is incorrect. The parent company that owns Tin Roof saw a business opportunity at a development in Raleigh with ties to Baton Rouge, and jumped on it. It's not an expansion of Tin Roof, it's an entirely new venture. It's not going to spread Tin Roof's resources too thin because it's not the same resource pool. It's not going to take away business from Tin Roof because it's not the same market. Tin Roof has been doing very well financially and on beer reputation over the last few years, there's no reason to think that won't continue as long as current leadership is in place.
Tin Roof's past failures and successes are at worst irrelevant and at best an excellent learning tool for the owners of this new place. They now know that hiring a CEO that understands the local beer scene is a great idea, and hiring competent brewers is worth every dollar. Those are two mistakes they made at the start and it cost them a good deal of time and reputation.
I think it would be great (and really a no-brainer) if in the future the two entities could collaborate, and share best practices and successful recipes, but they aren't my businesses.

In the last two weeks I've probably spent 4-5 hours standing in line for beer. And I'd rather not even add up how much money I've spent. I'm aware. My craft beer game is strong.

This is peak Tin Roof and pretty much sums them up as an organization. 20% of our product is putrid and undrinkable, the other 80% is tenuous at best. (Yes, I’m bad at math)
