Sausage, egg and cheese on a jalapeño cheddar biscuit from Whataburger is the GOAT breakfast biscuit.

I don’t know what makes McDonald’s sausage so good, probably a ton of msg or something awfully bad for us, but it’s great.
I splurge about twice a year and get a sausage McMuffin meal plus a sausage McGriddle. Awesome!

I will add, 2 sausage patties and an order of scrambled eggs is as good of a fast , low carb breakfast for under 5 dollars anywhere.

I'm with you for sure, but that sandwich itself is like 650 calories by itself. It's so good though I don't give a shite.

One of the better FF breakfast biscuits.
My two favorite FF biscuits are,
Bojangles (bo-han-glaze to you Hispanic folks) Cajun Filet Biscuit with Pimento Cheese. Adding bacon and egg makes it one of the best FF biscuits around.
Hardee's occasionally has a Fried Bologna Biscuit that gets better with the addition of egg and cheese.

there are a dozen gas stations off 12 between BR and Hammond with better breakfast biscuits than any of that fast food garbage
and yes, back to the OP, the sausage/egg/cheese biscuit is the pinnacle of handheld morning dining
