The Salad Shop on Coursey

anyone been by? How is it?
Pretty hard to frick up a salad I guess. Just seeing if everything is fresh and if they're generous with the chicken and what not.

I had possibly the worst salad I've ever had in my life at the one on perkins and Acadian. They make BAD salads like, sub-McDonalds bad.

I've never been and I doubt I will go although I live in the area. I never "crave" salad and have to go out for it.
Looking at their menu, it looks okay, but I just don't get the mindset of someone who looks at a vacant building on Coursey and says, "this town needs a salad restaurant!"
The amount of money and time to open something like this must be high for something so trivial as salads.
I wish any business owner success, but I just don't see it.

well I know a guy who runs a concept out of Hammond, but there you build your salad, weigh it at the end, and pay accordingly. They're doing pretty well. I think he's also mixed in soups and doing your own baked potato though
I was hoping that's what this would be...but when I checked out the menu online I don't see what they're doing differently then what I can get pretty much anywhere.

I have had the exact opposite experience every time I've ever been.
The salads are huge, there are tons of topping and dressing options, and they're chopped well. Unless you're looking for something like a blackened shrimp salad that you'd need from a full-service restaurant with a grill (and will be $16), I don't see what's wrong with their salads...?
I still think Fresh Junkie is my #1 for salads, but Salad Shop is a close 2nd.

This place is a pretty good salad place.
I've been to the salad shop on Perkins and Acadian and wasn't a fan.

Big fan of the Salad Shop. The Perkins one is only a couple minutes from my office. Avocado BLT salad with Hanley's Sensation dressing is my go to.

This is what I look for. I wish someone around here would open like soup Nazi and sell a few different ones daily. I would be there twice a week even during summer.

Most grocery stores do this. Good for a cheap meal.

To be fair, it's salad. I don't know what else you can do to the concept of a build your own salad at these shops.

MJ's on Jefferson usually has 2-3 on their menu everyday. I think they vary every couple of days.
And as for the Salad Shop, I've never had a bad experience. It fills me up and I sometimes even have leftovers. Service has always been pretty quick - and I don't think their business is struggling, from what I've seen.

it's called salad station, it's owned by the berrytown produce family. Excellent concept and the food cost is well below industry norm. They are making good money on it for a good product

I do like MJ's. She does a good job. I had a roasted red pepper sandwich there awhile back I enjoyed. Don Bergerons will have a couple this time of year.

Ordered a chicken Caesar salad, I liked it. A little pricey for me as I am not a huge salad person, but you do get a lot of food. I was only able to eat about half. I will go again but it won't be one of my go to spots.

tried it last week for first time...was decent for what it was.. dont see how you can mess up a salad...got the sensation dressing as well and it was ok.. i will be back

the two big ones in DFW are snappy salads and salada.
both are high end HUGE buffet style with unlimited toppings. the snappy salads was started by a guy and they go after macho salads and against the stereotypes. the large salad was enough for 3 people and they gave me like 12 oz of steak. it was awesome
i enjoy these places a lot. im still old school and for the money, the $7 jasons deli lunch is hard to beat.
both are high end HUGE buffet style with unlimited toppings. the snappy salads was started by a guy and they go after macho salads and against the stereotypes. the large salad was enough for 3 people and they gave me like 12 oz of steak. it was awesome
