Wow, I believe that is the definition of training.

"Training-Organized activity aimed at imparting information and/or instructions to improve the recipient's performance or to help him or her attain a required level of knowledge or skill."

What part of that don't you understand? You are responsible for your employees, if they fail to do what you ask/require of them then fire them and hire new ones that simple.

I wouldn't even dignify these assholes with a response. They obviously don't understand the complex issues facing restaurateurs.

True...we do the best we can and try to please everyone...obviously in the restaurant business, that can't always happen. I am disappointed, though, with the way employees handled rag's situation

We ate at Dempsey's this evening. There is def. an issue, especially in the back corner booth area, not by the window, but the other corner. The food was great, but the other issue def. needs looking into.

Guttata,
What did you have? Was this your first time eating there?

No, we have been a number of times. We always start w/ the boudin balls and I got chicken mornay and the wife gets grilled shrimp. The food is always very good.

Friday night special

why just friday night? rag is right, the steak needs to be bigger, or the price needs to be smaller...afterall, it is supposed to be a special.

gugs, seems like your business is doing pretty good. have you ever thought about upgrading to a better building, and getting out of the piece of shite dump that you're in?

one more thing gugs..i mostly eat in, but every now & then i'll call in a to-go order. the last time i tried to call in a to-go order, the chick taking my order was so ignorant that i just told her nevermind and called JCC..you might want to keep the newbies away from the phone until they're better trained.

i think his problem is the high turnover at the counter ... the kids working up there for minimum wage don't really give a shite, so they aren't going to answer the phone, resolve customer issues, and care if everyone that leaves the building was satisfied with their experience ... $15.95 for a 12 oz. ribeye isn't a fricking special .. you can get a 16 oz. at any of three places within a mile of his joint for either less or just $1 more ... the restaurant biz cries for hands on ownership .. and by hands .. i don't mean sticking your hands in the till at the end of the week depending on minimum wage high school kids to run your biz for you ..

either eliminate the problem or insist that the landlord does ... if the landlord can't do it, get a lawyer and break your lease .. why dempsey's hasn't bought a little piece of property on market street right around the corner and built their own free standing unit amazes me ... people that lease for 30 years are just flat out stupid, IMO ..

Agree. If I had to guess Im sure its because they have a crazy low lease in that location. Even with the current economy lease amounts are very high in BR.

I wouldn't reconsider it at all...this is the most negativity we have received the last 3 years...and rightly so.

I'm sure the banks aren't in a huge rush to loan money to build a restaurant right about now.

So, after reading this whole thread, I've decided to apprehensively try Dempsey's -- I've actually never been there. But I think I'll get my order to go.
