Gug, I am no expert on the fruit fly but the subject has come up on here before and I believe Afro...said something to the effect that you had to put bleach down all the floor drains...you might bump him up he seemed to know a lot about this problem that is so common in restaurants...but then Opie seemed to have the answer too...good luck...I will run in this week and see how you did.

a gold mine would be leidenheimer bread with your large shrimp !!...I'd pay $10 for that ... you know there is a distributor that supplies Ralph's Market with that bread.... I'm sure they'd deliver to yall
that leidenheimer bread is awesome...it sells out pretty quick at ralph's.
gug's, i had the grilled catfish with bbq shrimp there friday, and it was very good. you should have that more often, but than again i've said that about the crawfish boudin balls, so y'all quit making them..oh well....and as for the fly problem, both bear grylls & les stroud call them protein.

did you honestly think when you start a thread about your place that EVERY post was going to lick your asscrack

get the frick over yourself

your place isn't a five-star restaurant and you've got an assload of competition within a mile radius of you not coming on the F&D board acting like this ... grow the frick up

that is just fricking horrible right there, gugich ... how in the frick do you expect to run a business ?? do you actually give this excuse to your customers ?? the restaurant running apple fell way far away from the tree in your house ...

$15.95 for a 12 oz. ribeye isn't a fricking special .. you can get a 16 oz. at any of three places within a mile of his joint for either less or just $1 more ... the restaurant biz cries for hands on ownership .. and by hands .. i don't mean sticking your hands in the till at the end of the week depending on minimum wage high school kids to run your biz for you ..

people that lease for 30 years are just flat out stupid, IMO ..
excuse me for thinking these comments sounded like a jerk, not a critic that wants to improve a situation.
are you telling me you would talk to employees/customers/business associates/your mother/your children....anyone for that matter.....like this? you sure wouldnt do it face-to-face. call me whatever you want boss - but using language like this, directed at anyone, is inappropriate.
yes, your comments are out of line.
a customer complaining to make a business better is the exact reason some places stay in business. your posts are not in that direction

gugich starts the fricking thread to pimp his place .. surprise, surprise .. not every post in the thread is positive .. welcome to 2009 ..
Posted on 1/19/09 at 4:59 pm to bossflossjr
and exactly which comments were fricking out of line ?? was it calling out gugs scoffing at the lady for daring to mention the fly problem in the thread that gugich started himself to pimp his own restaurant .. was it disagreeing with gugs on the fact that $15.99 isn't a wonderful price for a 12 oz. ribeye in a thread that was started by gugs to pimp said alleged ribeye special ?? do you think people that lease for 30 years are brilliant ?? which, btw, wasn't directed at dempsey's since, and i am pretty sure i am right on this, haven't been in that location for 30 years ... please, enlighten me on what is out of line if you could remove gug's dick from your mouth and ball sack from your chin long enough ..

not really...i don't even like our ribeye special...the only reason i started the thread was to inform people that we have brought it back...because Skillet and others always told me if we brought it back that they would come eat dinner there, as well...

ehh...i could care less about the comments...rag's entitled to his own opinion, as is everyone else...now i thought ProudLSUMom took what i said too harshly, but that's how she took it...nothing i can do about it.
Posted on 1/19/09 at 9:45 pm to bossflossjr
boss, I couldn't agree any more... thing is, you got to learn to find the humor in Rag's post... at least he is consistant and honestly, one of the more entertaining posters as of late
"It's the fricking Internet Dumbass, get used to it" ~Rag
Gug, sorry for bumping this

Gugs seems like a good guy, he & Dempsey's will be fine.
Gugs, you said "when dad and sammy were in business together"...What Sammy was it? I'm curious now, give me a little Dempsey's history?...Wasn't the place that you're in now a hot tamale joint before y'all moved in?

i agree .. gugs does come off as a good dude on here and particularly in this thread ... my office is less than a 1/4 mile from dempsey's and i have lost count of how many times i've eaten there over the years ... 9.8 times out of 10 i have enjoyed it ... does dempsey's have its problems ?? absolutely, but who doesn't .. i'm a realist and nothing and no one is perfect ... you're setting yourself up for personal failure if you scoff at the ideal that something is not perfect and certainly if you can't handle someone with an opinion that just isn't the same as yours ...
gugs made a mistake early in the thread and atoned for it ... sounds like he's trying to learn and evolve in his business ... i'll eat lunch there at least once this week .. no doubt .. i always do ... i'm not trying to stoke this thing even further ... but i laugh my arse off at the people in here that prolly haven't spent $20 total in the place -- EVER -- fishing for a free order of fries trying to kiss gug's arse ..

I can only assume by your 1st comment....that you believe I fall into the 2nd comment catagory. If so, thats pretty funny. There are several posters on this thread that eat Dempseys on a regular basis....with me. My kids even eat at Dempsey's on a regular basis.
Zilla, I can certainly understand humor and entertainment.....but some people are just jerks....and hide behind a computer. "Its the internet" proves that. There is no reason to be so crude and vile with comments. Points can be made with intellect and discussion.....but I guess there is a vocabulary issue with some. I will say a prayer for such

exactly which comments
I think it's just your overall tone. The local restauranteur is the underdog that everyone wants to succeed on here. Your comments may not be out of line, but the frequency of them and your know it all attitude are clearly not welcome by many here.
I'd have to agree with you, if you're a restaurant and you have a fly problem going on over a year, something has to be done, even if you pay for building upgrades out of your own pocket. Just look at this thread, instead of a positive thread with most people commenting on how good the food is and rag getting quickly dismissed for bitching about a dollar, you get 5 pages of talks of fly infestation and a principle of the restaurant mired down in a defensive position.

he and Sammy worked together at the Sammy's off Highland for years...after a while, they decided to go into business together and opened up Sammy's Southern Bistro off of Jones Creek. It was pretty successful for a while, but they disagreed on some stuff. It wasn't long after that dad decided to go elsewhere and he sold his 50% to Sammy and opened up Dempsey's.
