I was in there only a couple of minutes and noticed the flies! I had 2 aggravating me last time I was there. Please get rid of those. Thanks!

yeah, the fruit flies are really bad but it's not our place...it's due to the constant opening and closing of the front door...they wait on those window seals like it's nobody's business


but glad to hear we were busy...you should definitely stop by next wednesday for the chicken fried steak...it's the best i've ever eaten, IMO...

Well that's a true statement. It's not our place, nut that doesn't mean we aren't constantly trying to fix the problem.

i've dropped this hint on here before too, mom ... i found two dead flies in a salad there about a year ago .. when i went back and told the little girl behind the counter about it .. she took it to the kitchen and brought me another salad .. no "i'm sorry" .. no offer of compensation, nothing .. how did i know they didn't take the salad pull the flies out and try to give it back to me ... same thing happened to a guy in the office next to ours with another dish ... gugich and family have a big bug problem in the kitchen .. this guy said whomever he talked to management-wise acted like an arrogant jack arse as well ...


and $15.95 is steep for a 12-oz ribeye ... should be a 16oz. for that money ..

uh .. gugich .. you started this thread on a public forum pimping your restaurant ... that's the risk you are going to take on here .. it was your choice to start the thread ... but that's good customer service on your part .. "dis" the customer trying to tell you something that bothers them about your place .. way to go ... anyone in business will tell you not to worry about the customer that tells you what you are doing wrong .. worry about the ones that don't say anything and just never come back ... the person critiquing you wants you to get better and improve the situation ... they are telling you "i want to patronize your place, but this bothers me" ... did you honestly think when you start a thread about your place that EVERY post was going to lick your asscrack ? no .. there are people that don't like your food .. it happens with every restaurant ... but i'll give you a hall pass on this .. you sound like you're still wet behind the ears in the retail business ... but get the frick over yourself .. your place isn't a five-star restaurant and you've got an assload of competition within a mile radius of you not coming on the F&D board acting like this ... grow the frick up ..

eta: personally, i used to love your food .. very tasty .. your parents are very nice people .. i was just turned off by how my problem and the problem of an associate was handled and fyi .. this happened long before gustav ..

I will never recommend your restaurant to anyone ever again.

I will never set foot in your restaurant again.

I'm sure this won't bother you since you have a thriving business, but it makes me feel a lot better!

No...no one ever likes to lose customers. I'm sorry if that offended you, but if that is gonna keep you out of our restaurant then I'm sorry. I didn't mean to come across as being a jerk but just stating the obvious.

Rag, for example, someone emailed me about it instead of posting. I can't control employees when I'm not around. I'm really sorry if you thought someone was distespectful to you about the salad. That's disgusting.

And about the bugs, they have been under control the last few months but it has become a problem again. It's very embarassing and we try out best to control it...

Apparently you have a lot to learn when it comes to dealing with people. If you can't control your employees how the hell do you expect to run a successful business that involves employing other people. When you learn to accept responsibility you will be on the right track. You and only you (if you are the owner) are responsible for the product and atmosphere that your restaurant portrays to the public. Learn how to control your employees or fire their arse!!

Wow, I am pretty sure I would be quite allright with losing the business of people like you two! Opie and George do a great job, and the whiny behavior of some of the people on here is appalling. These guys are working their assess off to provide good, local food and y'all sound like a bunch of "I'm too good for everything" bitches/assholes. You are the type of people that anyone in customer service HATES dealing with, because you are NEVER satisfied....

Not really. He can't watch them all every f'ing minute, but, you, as a customer that knows the family could immediately report the damn problem and THEN he'd have known of it and had a chance to address it(or not). I expect he'd welcome the call...even though I'm sure he'd rather the need not arise.

i tell you what .. check back next time you have two dead flies in your food and the person behind the counter is disinterested in resolving the issue ... if you call that "whiny" then so be it ..

eta: mentioning opie in association with this situation is an insult to opie ..

i think bringing it to the attention of the person behind the counter was sufficient ... i would think they have the latitude to correct a situation involving an $8 salad ... it could have easily been resolved there and it wasn't ..

Rag...that's what I'm talking about controlling them. Had I known about your incident, I would have made sure it was taken care of. I can't speak for other employees or train them to react to situations. I'm truly sorry you had a bad experience and it's my job, when I'm here, to ensure that everone has pleasurable experiences here. And by the way, that's a difficult thing to do when fruit flies are all around...
