The Original Grand Margarita Recipe:
2 parts Tequila
1 part Grand Marnier
1 part Lime juice
1/3 part Agave Nectar
All shaken together with ice and strained over ice.
What is your go-to margarita recipe?

My only take on what looks to be a good recipe is the amount of GM.
Cut that in half and let the lime and tequila control the flavor.

That’s basically mine. I probably go a little more lime juice because I lime limes, and I don’t really measure the agave syrup. Just go by taste
I also use Cointreau instead
Shake thoroughly over ice. Then strain over fresh ice like the recipe says
If I’m feeling adventurous I might add a couple splashes of jaritos guava or grapefruit soda just for some fizz

Excluding the agave nectar, your suggestion makes it 1/3 lime juice...I think we concluded that it makes it too tart.
Oops: my math was wrong...but my point still stands about the tartness

Excluding the agave nectar,
Not what I meant. Reduce the Grand M. by half. Keep all other ingredients the same. (assumed the sweet was always there)
That's how I make em.
It's really the flavor profile you like. Hell, I've even used OJ when I didn't have GM or Cointreau.

yeah, sorry about that, I fubared it and thought you wanted to cut the Tequila in half...personally, cutting the GM will still make it too tart for me...

Every margarita in Charleston has GM in it. They act like they invented it. It is very good though.

Leave out the agave. GM is plenty sweet enough.

I’ve had it this way many times. Makes a solid drink.

I prefer:
1 oz Tequila
1 oz Grand Marnier
3/4 oz Agave
Juice of 1 lime
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Shake with ice
Strain into glass to remove shaken ice (cubes become thinner and more vulnerable to melting)
Add fresh ice
