the Jefferson Parish cross: new food capital of NOLA

what is the cross - it's that T or cross shape in metairie and kenner where williams and veterans run.
don't laugh. hear me out.
is there a greater grocery area in America than that little 2 or 3 mile strip from the 17th st canal to power blvd all along veterans? i can't think of one -- much better than all the grocery shopping in chicago.
there you have Dorignacs, Whole Foods, Trader Joes (soon), Fresh Market (soon), Winn Dixie, multiple Rouses, Byblos, Oriental Market, Golden City Oriental Market, numerous Latin markets, Martin's, Zuppardos, Breaux Mart International Market, and much more. believe it or not there really isn't a finer stretch of grocery shopping in america.
and that's nothing to say of the many great restaurants, local and chain, on the vets corridor.
and williams? everyone already knows that's the true restaurant mecca of NOLA. no frills. no pomposity. no tourists or food snobs that brag about their restaurant choices. just great great food.

I know your job is to troll and all, but
Literally every downtown area in each suburb of Chicago and it's surrounding areas has at least one of the following:
Trader Joes
Binny's Beverage Depot
Whole Foods
Mariano's Grocery (or equivalent)
Caputo's Grocery (or equivalent)
Valli Produce (or equivalent)
A Chinese owned grocery
A Thai Owned grocery
A Vietnamese owned grocery
A Kosher grocery
A Halal grocery
An Indian grocery
A Latin grocery
A Polish grocery
Etc.
...and that's even before you get to the Wal Mart, Jewel-Osco, Costco, Meijer, Target, and Aldi's part of town

trader joes sucks
lots of alcohol stores on Vets better than binnys
Whole Foods is on Vets
Mariano's sucks - similar to Rouses
Caputo's sucks
the produce at Zuppardos and Dorignacs is far superior to Valli
the 2 oriental markets listed above are better than the best chinese grocery in chicago. chicago china town is a rip off. and the groceries and restaurants there are horrible.
same for thai and vietnamese stores
forgot to include Cajun Grocer - better than any Jewish deli in Chicago, which there are VERY few and not good at all. you are way overexaggerating the shops in Chicago. you'd have to travel 45 minutes from downtown to find a good Jewish grocery.
already mentioned plenty of Latin markets
Polish markets? LOL. those places are HORRIBLE. i lived in Ukranian Village for 2 months. those groceries SUCK BALLS. and Polish food is horrible. Glad we don't have any in Metairie.

LOL, ok.
You go to Martins and buy your Corazon Reposato Tequila for $32.99 on SALE.
I'll buy mine at Wal-Mart, err, Binny's, for $26.99 regular price.
Unfortunately, I can't find any other prices for any liquor at Martins to compare. Must be because they're too damn classy.

When you see the JP Cross
For the first time
You understand now
Why you came this way
'Cause the truth you might be runnin' from
Is so small
But it's as big as the promise
The promise of a comin' day

Why do you care about all these groceries when you only live off of $20 a week?
Is the canned beet selection in Metairie that much better than Uptown?
