Not surprised at all really. I've said for the last two years that it seemed like we had hit saturation point. Too many restaurants and too high real estate prices.

I would suspect (I didn't take time to read the article yet), that several new places will jump in to take the place of these closed ones.

Noodle and Pie, Irish House, Slice (magazine), Three Muses (maple street), Marcello's (metairie), Cafe Giovanni, to name just a few.. Some surprises in there for sure.

Café Giovanni???

Damn that's incredibly surprising.

Mizado is the only one on that list which I have tried, and it was overpriced and not very good. Drinks were on point though.

A new restaurant opens every week and very few of them are new and innovative- cuisine wise.

No surprise. They microwaved wraps right in front of your eyes.

Not surprising but the one time I ate at Primitivo, I really enjoyed it.

Did they expect to just make it on being "fresh"?

Me too

I think they would’ve made it another location, like the WHD

The word 'hype' makes it sound like it was overrated
