There's one coming to Lake Charles soon (across from the Prien Lake Mall, next to the new Vitamin Shop). I can't say I've ever heard of it. What's good there?

Everything according to my wife. For what it is, the food is actually pretty good though. I like the sandwiches and mac and cheese.

Better than Jason's Deli and McAllister's, but nothing like Panera.

I don't get all the love Newks gets. Maybe I'll give it another shot but I was not impressed on my only visit.

I still prefer Jason's deli by a wide margin.

ETA: I tried their popular Newks Q and the 5 cheese Mac n cheese when I went. The mac n cheese was decent but nothing spectacular. I found the sandwhich to be bland and lacking flavor.

The Italian sandwich is awesome.

Pretty good salads...good grab'n go stuff too.

My brother says the pizzas are good, but I've never had one.

ETA: After some research, the Italian sandwich is also one of the most unhealthy things they offer.

It's reliable. It's pretty good food. Big drinks.

Can't really go wrong on anything there. I don't go much because I've gone 100's of times.

Well, the one in BR is like eating at the food court at a busy airport. I really don't remember anything either good or bad about the food, but what I do remember is the cheesy atmosphere and tremendous noise.

Had one of the best salads I've ever had at the one in Jackson. BR Newks was decent but not as good.

Newk's Q pizza is really good.

The pimento Mac and cheese is way better than the 5 cheese.

Good chicken salad sandwich, too.

My family likes Newks. We have tried many of the sandwiches and pizzas. The Q is probably my favorite. Big, tasty salads also. Not a fan of the pimento and cheese sandwich.

I think it's solid- good quality meats, bread is crispy on the outside, soft & chewy on the inside.

Pizza and salads are good- if you dine in, ask for the dressing on the side.

Soups are really good- chicken chili & white bean and kale are great in the winter time, and the fire roasted tomato is outstanding I the summer.

Their limited edition items seem to be best- pork belly sandwich, Cuban from the spring.

We are there a lot when the one by our house first opened- not so much lately, but we kind of burned it out.

The food wont blow you away but it's solid enough. The pizzas and mac and cheese are alright but I've found a sandwich and soup or salad combo is the way to go. Newks works for us as a place to hit up when on the road in the SE and wanting something quick and (generally) consistent, like how people hit up Cracker Barrels on road trips.

Women love Newk's. They can eat "healthy" by consuming a 1,500 calorie salad.

I do like the breadsticks dipped in the roasted garlic.

Same here. I usually get a combo of (1) half a club sandwich and (2) a soup or salad, depending on weather and selection. The choices of soups changes daily.

Two people can get a combo like that and a drink for about $22. We used to be able to get it for a $20 and get change, but it has edged up.

They give you a big arse cup for tea/coke that you can refill on the way out and extend your value.
