That picture made me squeamish, to be honest. I just don't get it I guess.
It's a shame they didn't correct the spelling errors before printing their menus. Someone dropped the ball big time on that. Maybe they'll correct and reprint them and reconsider the cheesy "arm candy" and "side pieces" thing.
The menu doesn't look great to me. A grilled cheese dumpling with the common tomato bisque doesn't do much for me. I saw a picture of the dumplings somewhere. They're served on a spoon like an amuse bouche is served. The description says "dumpling" so I assume you only get one.

Pretty sad for a place marketing itself in such a manner. If those spelling errors go unnoticed I’d assume the attention to detail is lacking elsewhere

Exactly this.
I don't care what you do, if you are loose with details like this, then you are loose with details elsewhere.

I had no interest whatsoever in this place or its concept but now I kinda want to go just to see how disappointing it might be for the price.

They're trying desperately to be hip and trendy and on the cutting edge, but failing miserably with their presentation to this point. Truth be told, based on what they're offering and he photos I've seen, they're way, WAY behind, and I'd describe some of what I've seen as amateurish. Hopefully they take constructive criticism well and will up their game.

So you guys confused me when you said there was "a" supper club opening, vs a place with the "name" supper club opening.
Supper Clubs are an institution in Wisconsin and there are things about them that are very specific an awesome. Unfortunately they have died out in the state but a few remain and the experience is consistent across all of them.
There's a new one opening in Green Bay that my mom and I want to hit when I go back.

Wisconsin’s supper clubs started as taverns, resorts and dancehalls where fried chicken and perch were served along with a beer. Eventually these places transformed their food and decor, and as a result, the classic menu we know and love came into being: Friday fish fry, Saturday prime rib, Sunday broasted chicken and ribs. Plus relish trays, cheese and crackers at the bar and the undisputed cocktail: a hand-muddled brandy old fashioned.
But it’s not only the food that draws people back. Plenty of nostalgia is served up with each visit: memories of dressing up for dinner and having your first kiddie cocktail, or going to a high school prom, a graduation, an anniversary or a birthday.
It also helps that every supper club is steeped in history, with stories of misfortune, serendipity and mischievous ghosts. It’s fun to imagine that the walls could talk or to go back in time when lobster was a couple bucks and drinks were a quarter. This type of restaurant feeds the soul like no other, and we’re fortunate to have many exceptional supper clubs scattered around the state.

I mean, when was the last time anyone thought "Chilean Sea Bass" was a noteworthy menu item for a new place opening and wanting to "make a splash"?
Windsor Court has this in their menu. Take it for what it’s worth, if you think they place is shitty or whatever. But it’s not a horrible dish. It’s a horrible fish dish for somewhere trying to be inventive and unique though.

Are we just missing something? Like is this way over our heads hip, and we just don’t know it? Or did they frick this up that bad?

This is a cafeteria type lunch place in most other parts.

Ok lol

So like a lot of New Orleans places that are playing up the “ghosts and history and nostalgia” aspect.

Menu here actually reminds me of a nice but staid hotel restaurant menu. So that’s not real surprising. It makes sense in that setting I suppose. Just not what you would expect for some place trying to hold itself out as hip and edgy.

Right. That’s what I’m saying. It’s fine at a place like Windsor court. But it doesn’t at a place like this trying to be hip and inventive. It’s nothing new. At all.

Plot twist......maybe you are on to something. I am not affiliated with this place (and hope they - and all new ventures- do well BTW) but a couple of folks that I now know that are somewhat involved, know how to spell. I can't imagine the spelling errors where unintentional.

Definitely not.
Kinda reminds me of adults who think try to stay "cool" by wearing what they think is "hip" and saying things they've heard younger kids say. The problem with this place is, they're the equivalent of someone in 2022 wearing Ed Hardy gear and saying stuff like, "This is the bomb"

You might want to compare the menu on their website with the menu posted here. The website does not have the spelling errors on the menu they are using at the restaurant. I can't see spelling errors on the menu being intentional, particularly when you look at the words.

I am interested to see how it is once people come back and review. The IV drink and the menu misspelling is pretty bad. My husband was not raised a foodie but has been to some nice places when we travel. He took one look at those pictures and said it looked less than impressive. He at least appreciates plating at places where he doesn't eat most things on the menu.

I'm looking forward to reviews from posters here, as well. I know LL will give us details and a realistic review.
I'd be tempted to point out the spelling errors while there.
That would be like an itch that needs scratching for me.

For all the shite people are taking here, who has actually gone so far? We had 1 review but could easily be a friend/family or a SC employee

I respect Jambo's review. I'd like to see more, though. It's an interesting place.

Knowing/working with Leighton for years, I do look forward to giving it a shot. I doubt I’ll be there often though bc it’s not really my scene…although I do like wearing sport coats for nice dinners
