My entry is a disaster.

I did a boozy chocolate tres leches cake.

It may or may not have been eaten half way through by my husbands dog.

Yes my nail is a disaster, and yes I have on a Dolly Parton sweatshirt on. In case you were wondering.

So playing Oh Hell with friends went wrong. Abbey liked the cake.

We still salvaged some and obviously have the cutest helper. Promise he had none of the boozy part.

Go Abbey. I like that you specified that it was your husband's dog. IWEI at least the untouched side.

Looks delicious, despite the doggy shenanigans.

What this contest lacks in quantity, it more than makes up for with quality.

Some really great efforts.

Fourteen submissions by 11 participants is lower than usual. I will accept blame for choosing the ingredient. I hope it’s not that people are losing interest in the challenges. What do y’all think?

Not at all. This is a tough ingredient. New folks joined in. I think the contest is strong.

You’re doing awesome and the contests are great. So much talent that posts here and think it’s inspiring others that they can elevate their cooking game.

I think the lack of entries was due to the ingredient, but don't take it personal.

This ingredient motivated new contestants to participate & provided a break from the norm.

It's still a viable contest.

I can only speak for myself, but I am 100% still interested and game. I had 2 vacations this month, unfortunately. I don’t do desserts or chocolate much, so it took me some time to finally settle on an idea and it was too late :/

Will definitely still participate!

Okay, thanks, y’all. That makes me feel better. Let’s hope whoever wins this one chooses a good ingredient.

Chocolate covered cherry cannolis

Cannoli mini shells
Ricotta cheese
Cherries
White and dark chocolate morsel chips
Vanilla
Powdered sugar

Ricotta cheese in strainer for 24 hrs to reduce water content. I should have used cheese cloth to soak up more of the water.

Ricotta cheese was placed in food mixer and vanilla, cherry halves, and powdered sugar added. Mixture was divided into equal amounts. Half I added melted dark chocolate and white morsel chips.. The other half I added melted white chocolate and dark morsel chips.

I chilled the mixtures which were then piped into the shells. Topped with powdered sugar and chocolate syrup

First time I’ve ever made cannolis. My impression, they were okay but no where near Angelo Brocato quality and taste.

I was planning on finally participating in this one but had a last minute trip for work planned. I'll get in on one eventually. Hopefully the next one.
