What are your must haves? What appliances, gadgets, pots, pans, brands, etc would you go with?

I’ve mismatched and done without for years. Finally able to make it the way that I want it. So any suggestions?

If these items were lost or broke, I would be purchasing them tomorrow:

A decent non stick pan,
cast iron pan,
Food saver vacuum sealer,
5 quart enameled dutch oven,
8" chef's knife

I have a vacuum sealer, Global chefs knife, and one of my grandfathers cast iron skillets.

I need an entire new pot and sauté pan set for sure.

I like Great Jones for my pots and pans - LINK

I'd want a sous vide machine, air fryer, kitchen aid stand mixer, instant read thermometer, chef's knife, and a great coffee machine.

I really don't think you need too much else.

You should think about your style of cooking.

My immersion blender is one of my favorite appliances.

5-7 qt enameled cast iron Dutch oven
8”, 10”, 12” Scanpan nonstick w lids
8”, 12” cast iron skillets
2 and 4 qt saucepans w lids
11 qt stockpot
Decent stand mixer, KA, Bosch, Ankarsrum, etc
Bamix immersion blender
Magimix food processor

Parchment, foil, silicone spatula spoons, wooden spoons, multiple tongs

Which one do you have? Also, I was watching "The Chef Show" on netflix and there is an episode where he goes to Robert Rodriguez's house (Machete...El Mariachi, Sin City, and Spy Kids). They use his pizza oven (which I believe was wood fire) that's inside of his kitchen. I had never known I wanted one till I saw that.

The most important must have to me is a vent that will never set another smoke alarm off as long as I live. My parents have a great vent and I can sear the crap out of stuff without alarms going off. At home I set off 3-4 at the same time when I sear meats off.

I would go to a specialty asian knife store for my chef's knife. I went here for mine; it was about $300 and is way better than my Shun knives DC Cutlery Knife Shop

My knife

That is where I would start, and I'd have a sous vide too

I have a Braun and a Kitchen Aid. I like the Braun better. The Kitchen Aid had so much suction that it was difficult to move around in the pot. It would suction to the bottom of the pot. The Kitchen Aid is also bulkier. I would buy the Breville if I were in the market for another on, though the Braun works just fine.

Agree on the good vent. I have a Kitchen Aid gas stovetop with the gas grill in the middle and I can produce all kinds of smoke and it goes straight up and out of the vent. It's a beautiful thing!

I also have several sizes of food processors. I especially like using them for grating my own cheese.

I use my vac sealer frequently because I freeze a lot of things, so that's another one of my favorite appliances.

Again, OP, as you think of what you want in your kitchen, think about what you currently like to cook and your style of cooking and what you'd like to cook in the future if you had certain appliances etc... when deciding on stocking your kitchen.

My dream kitchen is basically a commercial ktichen that looks nice.

I'd want a 6 burner range with a chargriller, a salamander, 10qt Hobart mixer, chamber vacuum sealer, flat top grill, wok range, huge True glass front fridge, massive sink, and lots of prep area.

To answer your question-

Small Appliances:
Breville toaster oven
Vitamix
Zojirushi Rice Maker(made in Japan version)
Ankarsrum Mixer
Robot Coupe Food Processor
Stand alone induction burner

Other Stuff
Le Creuset Dutch oven and frying pan
All Clad Sauce and Stock pots
Decent chef's knife, pairing knife, and utility knife
Nice mixing bowls

They can be a real bitch to get permitted in a residential setting.

Really everything

I dont have a particular style per say. I like to try a ton of different things and experiment. I dont do much baking because I'm not a sweets persona and rarely measure anything.

Probably the biggest thing I need suggestions on is pots/pans set. Ive mismatched those for years and want a full set.

Ive got the following that I really like

KitchenAid stand mixer
immersion belnder
vacuum sealer
Global Chefs knife
Imarku cleaver
And utensils/smaller items are easy

That was one of the reasons I ended up buying the house I did. Commercial grade hood vented to the outside with dual blowers. Crank those puppies to high and it sounds like a jet engine in the kitchen.

Nice Gyuto as well. Have you looked at Chef Knives To Go yet? Every type and still of Japanese knife you could possibly want, and good prices since they work directly with the smiths.

Nah I have not. I don’t like buying knives online. I need to test them in my hand before I buy.

I guess I could test then buy but not sure I can find some of those knives online.

But the vent is most important
