I've seen Rabideaux's smoked sausage in Rouses in Laffy and Super Fresh (Exit 97). Have never seen their smoked andouille save in their store in Iowa.

Manda and Veron's

Manda cooked in a cast iron pot is the best. Jambalayas or just fried in a skillet with a slice of white bread folded over it! There’s a reason they’ve been the biggest LA company for like 80 years. Verons is good on the grill. Another good local company.

Oh, and the new crawfish boil sausage Manda has is delicious.

Of the smoked sausage readily available in Baton Rouge/AP:
Veron’s
Martin’s
French Settlement
Alexander’s
And actually, Matherne’s store brand is quite good

Cross the bridge and add:
Bergeron’s
Benoit’s

The smoked hot sausage from Porsche’s in French Settlement, LA is the best “store-bought” sausage I’ve ran across. Well worth the drive.

Conecuh is greasy gump sausage unfit for anything except grilling, and that’s only when there’s nothing better available. It sucks in any dish be it beans, jambalaya, gumbo or whatever. It greasy as shite and imparts some weird flavor that dominates everything else. No bueno

My wife - God bless her - bought some Manda last night. Absolutely terrible, nothing more than a glorified hot dog.

Rabideauxs is one if the best and a new player that competes with richards snd savoies is very good. Name is cajun traditions. I find their box sausage is very good. Way better than richards or savoies, both of those have taken a nose dive quality wise.
