So...uh... JBE may have just made Phase 3 MORE restrictive towards restaurants

So in Phase 2, there was no restriction on when a restaurant or a bar acting as a restaurant could serve alcohol.
NOW, in alleged Phase 3...they all have to shutdown alcohol sales at 10.

hopefully some real civil disobedience happens soon. I'm kind of surprised a NOLA business owner hasn't made a stand and said frick your fines and license suspensions bring real actual force to shut me down.

If I was on brink if closing anyway and had nothing to lose by doing it, you bet your arse I’d be operating until actual police show up and take all of us away.
Obviously this isn’t feasible for anyone who needs to operate in the future without issue. But damnit I’m so pissed for these people.
Went out last night and it was so absurd watching my bar that was packed turn people away at 10. It sucks so much for them.

I'm trying to think of a way they could get around it. In the case of beer, have people order in bulk, use buckets, and just bring ice to keep things cold throughout the rest of the night. For some mixed drinks, mix it all with the booze and place on the table. Refresh with ice as needed. Or could you have do it yourself cocktails where you serve the liquor in a carafe, all the fixings for the table, and the customer makes multiple drinks for himself as the night progresses?
Obviously I think the rule is utter horseshite, but maybe some places will figure out away around the "served" language?

A bucket or an ice chest you pay for in advance. I would say buying drink tickets would work but that counts as “serving”.

What about if the beers are in those giant ice troughs? You just show your ticket and grab a beer for yourself?

I personally think if it came to it, that would be considered serving. Someone would need to be there to monitor it.
I think an idea could be have a bunch of ice chests. You could sell a package of beers, wines, mixers, carafes in the ice chest, a dollar minimum. Available after 10. Ice chest wheeled to your table and yours for the rest of the night.

All you can drink with a “tip” jar next to the self serve keg. Or buy a shot of water and you can fill it up with beer. Kind of how people are able to sell their tickets over face value.
