I saw a commercial over the weekend for the Highland location. Are any of the other locations reopening? I miss it!

Family matters. And bad decisions

He overextended himself with the locations in Zachary and Prairieville plus he was testing a Gonzales location under a different name with same menu
Had to shudder both which ended up costing him the highland location as well until Stabiler bought that one
The rent for the Prairieville location was outrageous, now the building is sitting idle even though it was packed all the time

Near the end the Prairieville location was empty most nights. Quality and service declined big time

Overextended himself with multiple locations and the Oasis.
Obviously a lack of movers and shakers was a contributing factor.

I mean the menu was ridiculously large, at one point before they shut down they tried to introduce an entire bbq menu. At first is was pretty good, but it the last couple times i tried it, it had fallen off pretty hard.

You've completely run the joke into the ground
Give it a rest

That was pretty lame, tbf. You could work it in if you are good at it, but you aren't

iAmBatman has nothing else to contribute but the one joke over and over...

Simmer down, snowflake. Let all your hate go and be happy for once in your life.

It was a number of things.
Zachary and Oasis locations killed them. They were borrowing money based off their succesful locations, and dumping them in money pits at other locations. When those two were not successful, the debt really started piling up.
The debt made them start cutting corners on food cost, and people noticed.
Sammy is an extremely passive, non confrontational guy and when him and Jason split ways, he lost the operational side of things. They brought in some corporate Zeas people, but it was already too late at that point.
The accountant was stealing money the whole time and later got arrested for running a gambling ring in Gonzales shortly after Sammys went under.

He also had a location in Central. Not sure if it was a money maker or another millstone around his neck.

I just want to chime in to say we used to live a few blocks away and go when it was just the bar area and the back porch with picnic tables. Then they covered the porch and screened it in. That was when they had cheap pitchers of cold beer and the best damn cheese sticks ever made.
I just wish they could bring that place back.

I think central was an ok one - not drowning, but also not bringing in buckets of profit like Highland and Prarieville.

Same. We ate there at least once week from the early 90's until around 2016. The quality had already been spotty but it just went down the shitter around that time. I miss their chicken club sandwiches and chicken fried steak.
