So I just got a pack of ghost and envie from Dorignacs

I have never tried either. What are my realistic expectations? I only got them because of the constant praise (or bashing) of them on here.

I'm not a beer snob, I just saw them both on the shelf and new they weren't always easy to find so I picked them up. We'll see what happens

That's why it was still in the shelf. I like the beer but at $8.99 for six pack of Envie it's hard to buy the other. Same price for Commotion so it is my can go to beer.
I did buy a case of the double hopped Envie but haven't tried it yet. That Bloom is damn good too. Wish it would hit the shelves.

Ddh envie is great for a rare beer. It's my special occasion beer til my case is gone. Envie is my everyday beer. Ghost, Opus, dr hoptagon are my once a week beers.
Crowd control beats commotion out for my go to can beer.
I also have some Elysian space dust that is good for a more ambery ipa.

Shelf turds. They changed he formula. Not as good as last batch. They're only out to win awards, not make a good product. What's the date on them? Too clear. Too cloudy. Etc. etc.

time for my unrefined and uneducated update....
the date on the ghost is 11/14, the envie is 10/18
I am seriously digging the envie, not so much the ghost. It is just a little too dank for my tastes. I do enjoy the over-the-top citrus on the nose, but that's about it.
I'll offer the other 3 bottles of ghost to family when they come over for christmas
eta: I'm also just drinking them straight out of the bottle, so I know I'm not getting the full experience

I'm sorry I just don't get the hype. It's a good beer to have as a staple in the fridge, but there is absolutely nothing special about it IMO.
