“Smothered biscuits”….I had a friend call biscuits and gravy this the other day. He claims that’s what it’s called and he’s never heard it called biscuits and gravy.
I was obviously like WTF. Do any of you call it “smothered biscuits” ?
On same topic, who has best biscuits and gravy in BTR?

I'm not sure if they have gravy, but Elsie's makes some fine biscuits for brunch, served with different butters.

I didn't hear of biscuits and gravy until I went to college. Wasn't something we'd ever eat. Always thought of it as more of a farmer's type breakfast. Kinda upper south/midwest.

Smothered would be brown gravy over biscuits
Biscuits and gravy has the bits of breakfast sausage within the white gravy that goes over the biscuits

Neither have I but I think I’ve eaten them many times. Split in half and covered in a dark meat gravy... not the white sausage gravy.

It doesn't matter what it's called as long as we all agree it's delicious!!!

First time I ever had biscuits and sausage gravy was when rolling through N. La. on my motorcycle on a road trip. I stopped at a small town diner and got talked into getting that by the cute waitress.
I didn't know what to think of it when I got it in front of me, but it sure tasted damn good------and filling as hell.
I now make biscuits and sausage gravy a couple times a month for the wife and I. It is a hit and easy to fix.

I remember the mama in Sling Blade saying "biscuits and gravy" so that's what I've always called it.
I also like a good chocolate gravy over biscuits

Biscuits and gravy here. The only thing breakfast related I've ever heard called smothered was Waffle House hashbrowns.

I had never heard of it until about 5 years ago when a relative of mine in Arkansas mentioned it. I thought she was pulling my leg at first, but nope... it's delicious!
