That was one of the most mediocre burgers I have had at a place like that. It really was not a whole lot better than a fast food burger. I was very disappoint. No way this place last with Dearman's offering a much better burger just across the street and 5 Guys. I personally am not a huge fan of 5 Guys, but it is far better than Smash Burger.

No, I just "hate" Burger King. My little laughy guy didn't convey enough levity I suppose.

Had Smashburger a couple weeks ago right after they opened. It was OK, I guess, but doesn't give me a reason to go there again.

There are a slew of better burgers in that general vicinity (Portabello's, Beausoleil, Dearman's, Whole Foods, hell, even Walk Ons has a better burger). If I'm going to a burger specific place, it's hard to beat Burgersmith.

Would take Dearman's over all those listed. Burgersmith can be really good, but it is very inconsistent.

Yeesh. Tried them several times and I guess I just don't get the love for the place. Their fries with Smith seasoning or whatever it was called are good though.

I'd take 5 Guys or Mooyah over Burgersmith.

Most definitely. I like Fat Cow though, even though that isn't a popular opinion on this board.

I liked the hell out of Smashburger and their sweet potato fries were legit. The bun was soft and flavorful, the meat was hot and not overcooked, the bacon taste like the same stuff they use at Texas de Brazil instead of that laser thin sliced salt meat they use at most restaurants. I'll be eating there again

Ate at one today in Irving, was ok nothing special though. Still some of the other places mentioned are above smashburger.

the burgers at Fat Cow and Coffee Bean are very underrated.

I don't like Fat Cow at all. Patty is a weird sausage flavor/texture, which I've been told is because they mix in several cold sticks of butter with the meat. The bun is not my style either.

Never had the burger at Coffee Bean, but I tend to like everything they do.

Yep I've given Burgersmith 3 tries and every time was overcooked and dry (not enough to complain about or not eat, but not as good as other places). If they cook to order, they've never asked me.

I used to not be a Burgersmith fan because my burger always came out bloody. But for the last year or so, every visit has been on point. They ask how I want it cooked, and it's been a perfect medium each time.

And I can get a decent beer with my burger, which I can't do at Five Guys.

I'm thinking this is why you like them Beer selection is definitely a step above most burger places.

I'm the opposite concerning Burgersmith. I used to love their filet burger ordered medium rare. Now, they smash their beef so thin that it's impossible to get anything much below well done, and the burger sticks out an inch from the edges of the bun. I went from going every couple of weeks to only going when dragged by a group.

True.

But Burgersmith cooks their burgers to order (despite your experience, just ask them). They offer 6 different types of cheeses. Five Guys won't cook the burgers any other way than well done and only uses American cheese (aka processed cheese product)

Mooyah is definitely a few steps ahead of Five Guys.
