METAIRIE, La (press release) – Smalls Sliders, the trending cheeseburger slider concept founded by Brandon Landry, is opening its latest “can” in Metairie on Feb. 1.

The new location is owned by Drew Brees, Jason Loezel and Ben Smith. Brees is an early investor in the industry-disrupting QSR brand. The Metairie Can is situated at 4580 Veterans Blvd. and features convenient drive-thru and walk-up ordering options. The grand opening will be celebrated with an official ribbon cutting hosted by the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce at 10 a.m on Feb. 1. Plus, the first 100 guests will receive a coveted pair of free Smalls-branded slides.

Took the kids once since it’s right next door to our dentist. Buns were SOAKED in butter/grease, fries/queso were ok, kids enjoyed their shakes. Once was plenty for me.

The building is made from shipping containers.

Small sliders is growing way too quickly and quality will inevitably fail

if someone tried to build a shipping container house in town the city would be all over them but the city is fine with a couple of multimillionaires dropping a shitty looking shipping container in the middle of the city to sling shitty burgers.

There are several in Lakeview. Most of the time there is a facade around the outside which masks it. They aren't painting the mfs orange that's for sure.

I like their product, and I think it’s creative how they’re building on little used parking spaces

They're probably the best slider style burger you can find. Consistent and not terrible. I just prefer a standard burger. Bread makes up too much of a slider IMO.

This!

I'm not opposed to greasy food. Nor am I opposed to fast food. Hell, I probably eat way more of both than I should. While the burgers tasted "ok", the grease/butter was way too much. I've eaten SS twice now (the two burger combo). On both occasions I felt like shite after eating the burgers. The first time I figured was just a "one off", so I gave it another go. Nope. Second time was the same reaction.
