Going meet a buddy and his wife who are staying a week at the campground. They have had 2 nights bad experiences at crawfish town USA. What are some good places around there. Not looking to drive to Lafayette.

They're about a 10 minute drive from Bayou Teche Brewing, they have a pretty cool outdoor drinking area and some pretty good wood fire pizzas.

Cafe Sydnie Mae in Breaux Bridge is good. They're in the old Cafe Des Amis building.

SS,

Dearest of friends, thank you for the words of love. I am working on a poem right now for June 15 and am organizing my Desert Storm trading cards that Cousin gave me in 1994 when he was cleaning out his toy chest. I have several Colin Powells and Schwatzcoffs extra if you are looking to complete your set. Looking for a James Baker and an M1 Abrams and Patriot missile to complete the set. Please let me know if you have one to spare.

Once my tasks are complete I will go down and give Mother your regards. I can assure you that she will be excited to hear from you, who she now calls “our dear Bay Area ballet friend.”

Yours,
TulaneLSU

Cafe Sydnie Mae and Little Big Cup are probably the best dinners you'll have in that area. Both are excellent.

In my family, a "sit down food place" was any restaurant with table service where you were waited on without a drive-through option or a buffet line. These sorts of meals were reserved for special occasions like birthdays, mother's day, father's day, graduation, etc. In Ascension Parish, the "sit down food places" growing up were Chili's, Sno's, Kevin's, Hilltop, El Meskal, The Cabin, or Captain Anderson's. We would get this as a family maybe once every couple of months.

Other places which thus didn't fit the description were Piccadilly, Sicily's Pizza, Golden Buddah, and Grand Wall. These places were eligible to be eaten at after church or a little league game. Might get this luxury once every few weeks.

Fast foods were the next step below, and consisted of any place with a drive-through line that could be picked up on the way home from work. This was only permitted if you were good or the parents were really busy and didn't have time to cook, so n more often than once per week.

No, my parents were just people who lived below their means.
