Went to this joint for lunch once a month or two ago.

I couldn't believe it was a sit down restaurant. Decor and atmosphere were very fake and cheap feeling.

There was almost nobody in there at noon. Service was terrible. Food was worse.

Better investment...north BR or Sherwood redevelopment?

Sherwood, easily.

I live in the neighborhood and recently have seen a few homes around me purchased by young couples. Just recently, my neighbors (elderly) sold to a young couple. He’s an accountant and she’s a nurse. Mid to late 20s. It’s a good sign.

We live in Woodland Ridge off of S Harrells Ferry and our neighborhood is turning younger too. A lot of the original residents are downsizing and it's been mostly young couples moving in. It helps that we are close to Episcopal, Runnels and Parkview.

The Shrimp Baskets closing does not surprise me at all. There's too much good seafood here.

I knew that Sherwood location was going to be a bust. And a new building was built for it. Terrible business decision.

Planned on never going there because I would have never expected an out of town company to have good seafood here. Ended up going once on Perkins because the kids were nagging to try it. Ended up being just as crappy as I expected. Can’t believe they lasted as long as they did. What were they thinking?

That area of town has a good lunch crowd but this doesn't surprise me. I don't think either Shrimp Basket is going to make it in BR. There are better options right down the road.

Hell there's better right next door in South of Philly.

I went once to the one on Perkins. Within 5 minutes, I knew the place would close within a year.

Ive heard by a few that Broadmoor is bouncing back, would be nice if Sherwood followed suite.

That's really [pleasantly] surprising to hear. I figured that entire area of town was dead. I don't know anyone my own age out that way, so I assumed it was all elderlies and culture.

That's the part of BR all my friends were from when I was a kid, however.

They got suckered in by the success of Chimes East.

They got real estate people making location decisions who don't know frick about the restaurant bidness.

I work near the Sherwood location and we ate there twice, once when it opened and it was okay for what it was. went back another time and had one server for the whole place, took forever for food and drinks. I knew it wasn't gunna make it.

that being said all other food places around have no problems, we frequent albasha, pearl, Londoner, wing stop, pita pit. they all are fine. shitty service and food and you wont make it in the lunch scene in this area.
