Should we bring back the cooking competitions?

It's been a while. I know the previous iteration used ingredient themed meals

Maybe we could reboot it with different themes like cuisine based instead of ingredient based

I don't know if it would get any momentum but I'm sure a few of the more enthusiastic posters would participate again like LL, Darla, BigDropper etc.

My vote is for a supper club of sorts. We choose a few restaurants New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette to start, and we reserve a private room once a month and have dinner and drinks. If it weren't near me, I would get a room and make a getaway out of it.

Not personally interested.

Darla is definitely not interested. She is no longer on TD.

Those were always fun to read through as a non-cooker
Some super talented, creative foodie minds on here

I like that idea even more.
I'll do cooking comp too as I cook now now.

The voting for to be really silly the last few times though.
Became more a joke.

rightfully so, yes it was funny but some of us actually tried. I was late to the party but I ranked in a few and won one iirc. I actually cared about this aside from my steak entry (which I still actually prepared)

Never entered, and I doubt I would have ever won, but I enjoyed reading about what folks were making and saw some impressive creativity. Some folks have skills...I'm still learning.

Yeah, but no! It was fun, but I think it's lost its lustre.

I like the idea of food competitions, and the supper club might be fun too!

This board just isn’t what it once was. Combination of people taking things too seriously, and people being way too immature. They caused everyone to lose kinda like the SEC is doing right now.
F&DB still has good things going though.
WFDT is usually pretty good and I check it almost daily.
Plenty of good food questions and restaurant reviews/ recommendations.
Great recipes shared.
Cajunate has made some pretty solid posts lately.
The good ole days were good but no going back now. Just enjoy the good things we have now and get what you can out of it.
