Shaya versus Saba

Thoughts? I've had Shaya a few times and Saba once (last night). Totally unscientific but Shaya wins in my book. I wasn't sold on the Saba customer service vibe and the meat was exceptionally fatty for a $45 entree.
Both have that lamb ragou bolognese on hummus. Dang son.

Maybe I'm crazy, but give me the restaurant that is still run by the person who created the menu
I've been to Shaya, Saba, and Safta and all were excellent, but this was when Alon was still running Shaya.

I think Early on Saab’s menu really had a “these are my B team ideas since my original restaurant is owned by someone else” vibe.
But I would Prefer to eat at Saba because I feel like supporting the chef and they added the lamb ragu hummus which is the best thing on either of their menus.

Shaya has a dope happy hour and we could scarf down any of the hummus apps

They are almost the exact same restaurant. Usually choose Shaya because it is closer.
The people Besh employees seem nicer too.

Saba has been put way on the back burner by Alon. I mean I guess you are supporting him, but he’s never there

Just my thoughts, but when I lived uptown I much preferred Saba. While Shaya is definitely great and I love their fried chicken hummus, the blue crab and blistered corn hummus at Saba is better.

That date salsa verde is life changing.
