Seattle beer recs

I moved up here in Sept and have tried a few local beers. This one I really enjoy.

Yeah, I'm looking for shelf stuff from somewhere like a Whole Foods or easy access bottle shop so as to not have them going out of their way.

Maybe even stuff accessible in Seattle that's not distributed in LA or TX, like Block 15, etc??

Chuck's Hop Shop will have a huge selection, if they can make it there...some of the FBD guys can help with specific brews.

And yes, Holy Mountain was my favorite brewery up there, though Fremont was good too. Not sure if either of them distribute to places like Chuck's

I don't know about Holy Mountain, but Fremont will have stuff in most bottle shops. Their Interurban IPA is meh, though. The have some good stouts and BA stuff, but I don't know if any of that stuff will be available,now.

You might find Block 15 at Chuck's, but that's the only place that would carry it. More likely to be on tap than in cans, though. Block 15 and Chuck's have some sort of relationship, but Block 15 doesn't distribute to Seattle, except for Chuck's.

Look for pFriem in bottles, as well as Breakside. Barley Brown's distributes there, but is only available on tap - so if they are willing to mule back growlers...

As much as I would like to really love Ecliptic, they are hit and miss, so you will be rolling the dice.

Red hook IPA is a 2 for $3 tall boy gas station beer in NC. Please don't bring it back from Seattle.

Washington has more breweries and grows more hops than Oregon. Oregon beer scene >>>>>>> Washington beer scene. So many small and yet uninteresting breweries in Washington. Don't get me wrong, there are some good ones, too, but I don't see much quality or innovation going on up north. I haven't looked to see if the problem is regulatory.

ETA: Washington has more breweries than Oregon, but fewer per capita (Washington has 5.8 brewries per 100,000 people, and Oregon has 7.6). Most interesting, IMO, Oregonians drink 9.4 gallons/year of craft beer per person, while Washingtonians only drinks 2 gallons/person).
