Country fried steak day was like Christmas morning at my school with a side of mashed taters and a big wheat roll.

close second was chicken nugget day with white roll and mashed potatoes. Get a double order and make mashed potato nugget sandys

School Deep Fried Burritos were the best

This.
And my school had the most incredible tater tots. I strived for years to find a suitable substitute. The only thing that ever came close was when they introduced Ore Ida Extra Crispy tots. I actually wrote a letter to the Ore Ida corporate office praising them for their valiant attempt.

I loved school cafeteria food

Went to catholic school in BR k-8

The only think that sucked was the bag chocolate milk and ketchup the served. Never tasted right

Charburger with Cheeses was a great food item also.

In college we had Steak Night every other week that was amazing.

Keep your Salisbury steak, chicken fried steak, and chicken nuggets. The GOAT school cafeteria lunch day was when the old grandmas that worked the cafeteria would bake homemade cinnamon rolls. Fights started regularly over those things. It was like fricking prison rules if someone eyeballed your cinnamon roll wrong.

You might be from south LA if you recall with fondness an old cajun lunch lady asking you "Beans, beb?" every Monday of your school career.

If I ever end up on death row, one of the contenders for my last meal would be cafeteria chicken fried steak and industrial mashed potatoes with white gravy. That is one of my favorite meals. My wife actually cooks a good CFS but I dont know if it is the higher grade of meat that my wife uses or what But I prefer the cheap mystery meat CFS.

Also, the peanut butter scoops that were in the little soufle cups. I dont know what they mixed with the PB but those were the bomb.

And getting the center cinnamon roll was like winning the lottery.

D sides wins with the rectangle pizza. Add a piece of "wacky" cake and a 1/2 pint of chocolate milk and it was all over in elemenary school. Then it's time for recess
