Was there a better feeling than laying your eyes upon the buffet and seeing those browned globs of meat slathered in savory sauce?

More ambitious diners would have the opportunity to order two steaks at the same time.

The only thing that goes with salisbury steak and mashed potaters is more salisbury steak and mashed potaters.

PS You would have gotten a better response posting this in the OT. shite like this is over these MFs heads.

Styrofoam trays presented unique challenges to diners. Clumsy knifesmanship could result in a hole in the tray.

Maybe we are quite as retarded as you.

And the second and third are chicken fried, not Salisbury .

So they allow random adults to just go eat lunch with little kids at school? What could go wrong?
Only salisbury steak I've had:

My favorite was Friday school lunch. Who doesn't love baked Fish Sticks!

School Deep Fried Burritos were the best

But Michelle had to take those away from us.

Also the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Squares were amazing.

I went to a public high school so I didn't always eat lunch in "the pit". But some days they had good stuff. I remember the lasagna and pizza being my two favorites. And I always had to get an extra chocolate milk for $.25.

Country fried steak day was like Christmas morning at my school with a side of mashed taters and a big wheat roll.

Yes, the smell of my grade school's buttered corn as I entered the cafeteria.

In my first year of college, there was a bar that would feature "beat the clock" on Friday afternoons. Mixers started out at 30 cents (a few years back of course) and would go up a nickel every hour. After three hours of drinking we'd hit up the cafeteria. Solely because of the situation, it was the best food ever.

What you did was take the steak and put it between the bread and make a sandwich from it, and then wipe it in the mashed potatoes and gravy.
