per this mornings Daily Report. LINK
I've never been but knew they have a location in Hammond and McComb.
What I didn't know is the chain is based in Baton Rouge(yet the only Louisiana location is in Hammond).
Looks like they have about 20-25 stores.

Looking at the menu, basically it's a Logan's. I guess if they can keep the Dutchtown and Pville crowd from hopping on the Interstate they should do ok.

If they have a location in McComb, I wouldn't expect much from this place.

Which believe it or not is a huge upgrade from Red Stick Bistro.

Which is probably why they closed already.

I live 5 minutes from the place and never made it in. In fact, I haven't eaten at the Mexican Place right next to it either. Neither seem appealing for some reason.

Drove by the Hammond location on Father's day on way to BR. It was packed at 330 pm.

The Mexican place is actually pretty good for Baton Rouge Mexican. Homemade Tortillas and everything. Probably is barely middle of the road compared to say Houston or San Antonio, but for Baton Rouge Mis Padres isn't that bad. It's certainly worth you giving it a shot next time you want Mexican.

I've been to Santa Fe in other areas. It's a fun place to take the kids and the food is decent and pretty inexpensive. Nothing great, and definitely not a place you would want to go if you're looking for the kind of meal that makes the Food Board snobs happy.

Baton Rouge-based Santa Fe Cattle Co. restaurant chain has leased a 5,000-square-foot space in the Ultima Plaza shopping center that formerly was occupied by Red Stick Bistro.

You've never eaten at Mi Padre's?

I never went to Mezza Luna, but heard it was decent, but pricey.
I went to Red Stick Bistro. Food was good when I went, but very expensive for what I go. Looked like they tried to knock off LA Lagniappe's menu. Food wasn't as good, and more expensive.
I'll try Sante Fe Cattle Company. Looks like a decent place for a quick evening meal with the wife.

It's a good location, the owner didn't have a reasonable understanding of the type of restaurant that fit there though.
Mezza Luna was pretty good, just over priced for what you got.

I went twice. First time was decent. The second time the menu had been changed. Some entrees were removed and the average price point per person had probably gone up $8 or so.
The food quality had also gone down. Lump crab meat on the menu magically became back fin on the way from the kitchen to the table. No explanation was given.

same people that own the grand cinema and a few other businesses here in BR.

The 32 oz beers in huge mason jars are nice. Other than that, food really ain't worth going out of your way. I stayed in McComb for a few weeks for work. Went there for the beer, after a few meals, ate elsewhere.

never been but can almost guarantee it will make a killing in Pville. If they serve alcohol, food that isn't too expensive, and have an atmosphere that kids can get a little loud (not Chuck E Cheese loud) in then it will be a winner. So many middle class families that don't have the cash or time to go big.
Same reason Sammy's will do good in the area.
