It's pretty good if you have one nearby that is not insanely crowded all of the time.
I like it for the gas prices at the Sam's on my way home from work. Beats the hell out of most of the other ones around.

good place for tailgating supplies. The new one near cortana is nice and clean.......for now.

milk is cheaper there. we buy a year supply of toilet paper, paper towels, and garbage bags every year. as mentioned, gas is usually cheaper. and, depending on what meat you get, you can get good deals at different times.

Meat selection and price is hard to beat. And if you find yourself needing a 5 gallon bucket of mayo you can get that too.

I've never met anyone with a membership who regretted it.

It's like $40 a year to join, and you can easily get that back in savings

As others have said, good quality meat for the price. Ziplocks are cheap... You will find certain things that you use and buy and buy them every trip.

Worth it for the rotisserie chickens, USDA choice meat, good cheese selection/value.
Some good take and bake items (chicken enchilladas).
Not to mention the bulk dry goods.
Never thought the beer/liquor/soft drinks was that great of a deal.
Hot dog combo for lunch is around $2, for a quick meal.

one thing i hate about the place is the checkout situation. 20 people each with a truckload of stuff and 3 lines open.

forgot about those. we usually stock up on these once a year too. Although, we bought some in Dec of 2010 and still haven't bought more.
They do have things that are not worth it. The best thing to do is go shopping at your normal grocery store. Keep the receipt. Go shopping at Sam's, and compare and see what's worth getting for the value. Not everything is worth it just because it is at Sam's. Just remember to make adjustments for the larger portions you'll get at Sam's.
Also, remember that stuff expires and don't buy more than you can use.

That .89 softdrink to go cup at the register is money.

Pros - I can buy almost anything there that I need for the week, personal and business.
Cons-
Employees there suck. I'd almost rather slit my wrists than stand in line for 30 mins bc the slut hates her job, and has no sense of urgency to get the line checked out. For some reason, there are 20 lanes, and never more than a few people working them, even during peak times.
The old Airline store was awesome, the new cortana one has attracted so much riff-raff, the employees hate their jobs even more now, it's a cluster to get in and out unless i go at 7am, and I swear on Friday/Sat nights everyone in the area has decided to make it CLUB SAMS for a cheap dinner at the snack bar, and hang out outside dicking off.
The Sams club was awesome before everyone could pay a little extra and invade the business only early hours.
For me, it's a necessary evil.

Yea. Also foil pans. You tired of taking one up the poop chute when you buy foil pans? Have no fear. Sams club will sell you a shitload for cheap. Good sturdy ones too.

We like it. We also have a family of six so, like others said, meat, paper products and things like that are good to get there.
I guess it depends on which Sam's you go to as to how the lines and things are. The one we go to isn't bad at all.
