I'm done with these guys. The last 3 times I have gotten something here it's been pretty bad. Picked a go order up last Friday. Her steak was bland. They either changed the fried cheese or was out and subbed something else(different coating and not as big). And my seafood pasta tasted like it was out of a can. What sucks is it the closest food to my house.

Expecting Ruth Chris quality steaks from Sammy's is the first problem, cook them at home.

I always enjoyed it for what it is. I don't expect something life altering, but it's a decent place to have a beer a bite to eat occasionally.

Went to the one in Zachary yesterday and had the shrimp/crawfish combo plate... it was just as average as ever. My wife's chicken fried steak was massive, though. I'll give them credit for that.

Went there once in my 5 years in BR. The fish I got was terrible.

Who orders a steak to-go? That is just asking for it.
However, Sammy's is extremely over-rated. If you aren't obsessed with crawfish then I don't get the appeal. The food isn't bad but it isn't exactly good. With almost every dish you can think of some place that would serve the same thing but better. It is a good place to go if I am not really craving anything in particular, I guess. I just think of the place as being quite bland.

Um, yeah...these are two items that certainly do well in a Styrofoam box. Nice call on ordering those to-go.

Ordered this last time I was at Prairieville location. Terribly greasy and overcooked. Something is up with the cooks there now. I've heard from several that the crawfish aren't the same either.
