Sammys food is okay, but nothing earth shattering. The location would make it convenient for those who live right there, but the place is on a wait pretty much all hours of the day. It blows my mind that, even outside of crawfish season, people in groups choose that place at 7pm on a Friday when they'll be looking at a minimum hour long wait.

Brewbacher's on Bluebonnet of all places has better fried catfish than Sammy's. Fries, too. Sammy's overseasons so they both taste about the same. Ironically, Sammy's has better sandwiches (club and that prime rib thing they do) than Brew's, which I thought was known for its sandwiches. I mean, I tried a half dozen sandwiches at Brew's and wasn't impressed with any of them.

I've always liked George's so much better than Sammy's.
The Sammy's in Prairieville is not on the same page as the one in Baton Rouge, the quality is lacking.

I get Sammy's to-go as well and my problem is this. When they tell me 15-20 minutes, it really means 35 minutes. If you get there 15 minutes after you order, you'll be standing around like a jackass for a long time.

Seems like you shouldn't continue to show up there 15 minutes after you order.

Some of the best burgers in Xxx, USA are found at Mexican joints. Don't ever, ever sleep on a burger at a run of the mill Mexican joint. Why? I don't know. I attribute it to them not serving many burgers, so they don't have frozen pattys and/or precooked pattys sitting around all day. Most of them give you a fresh patty. Or maybe Manuel goes out of his way to show the gringos he can cook burger and isnt limited to premade microwaved plates of slop Messican fare. Not saying this phenomenon is the case everywhere. But it's been fairly consistent in my travels.

This is the truth. My favorite burger comes from a local Mexican Cafe in Fort Stockton TX. They sell a lot of them. Meat is fresh and served steaming hot. Damn good!

I quit going to George's after Smokie used his City Council position to bully the food trucks and Sammy's went on the do not fly list when he gave that tPOS 15 seconds of fame she didn't deserve. If he wants to pander to that class of customer he can deal with the outcome of that decision. Plenty of other places around the corner frying shite to have to patronize his place.

This. It's honestly been shite since then. I've eaten the Zachary location three times since then and the best thing they had going was the sweet tea.
