Sammy is a colossal prick

Overpriced maybe, but actually, the majority of their food is prepped fresh daily with their own recipes and that is why their food cost is so high.

Sammy is a great guy, so sad to see, but he grew their restaurants in one area way to fast to sustain 4 Sammy’s.

I'll never go back to the PVille location

It's on par with Picadilly at this point

Too many restaurants in the area for the amount of people that eat out. Even though the town seems to be booming the restaurants seem empty. I don’t know if it is because it is primarily DSLD type homes being built or what. But the only places that are full are Lit Pizza and Cane’s.

Sammy’s went downhill. All locations. Not just Zachary.

And when the hell did the cheese sticks decrease in diameter by half! I remember when they dropped from 6 to 5 logs and upped price but they were still big fat ones(pun). This is comical. :woah:

Well they have the distinction of being the best school district in the state. If that’s not good enough to fuel growth and development, I don’t know what is. Seems like Ascension Parish/Livingston Parish are still growing faster than Zachary.

If that’s true then that means they went from prepped fresh, to pre cooked and now back to prepped fresh, which I doubt. I used to work with a guy who managed at the Highland location and he used to talk about how downhill it went because they started getting most of their food from the John Folse distribution place or whatever it’s called

Jason Jackson

He was the one who took them to the next level and then there was a parting

He opened The Francis up in St Francisville and is doing quite well

Ahh thanks. I go to the Francis often as I have a farm not far and we enjoy it. Sitting outside with the dog on the patio waiting for MobileJosh to show up. He’s packing them in up there.

Something seems to be working over there. Just passed the place and the parking lot looks to be filled from Old Jefferson to the Airline.

It's always full, but the food is horrible. Love the layout, atmosphere, etc. but the food itself leaves much to be desired. I live right around the corner and we never even consider it when going out to eat.

I imagine entire parishes would grow more than a city.

Sammy's is the most overrated place in the BR area I've ever been to.

We hit the Smokehouse next door about twice a month for boudin egg rolls and meat pies. Their food at both places is amazing.

I'ma reserve that for Phil's Oyster Bar. And like Sammy's they weren't always overrated.

Used to love Sammy’s. Wasn’t great or anything, but solid and cheap. Last time we went, it was pretty bad. Got a raw piece of chicken.

It is Ascension and probably one of the better restaurants in the area... That is all you need to know....

Sammy’s on highland was good when I was at LSU in the late 90s. Good crawfish and chicken fried steak.

They also have the distinction of having GP and two or three other businesses fold. I’d imagine all those lost jobs aren’t helping out an apparently lagging restaurant scene.

Nah, it just sucked since Jason left. The trajectory of the downward spiral of this place in the past 3 years has been quite epic
