And guess who is opening a new location in Zachary?

Yep: The Francis will be opening in Zachary soon along with Magnolia Cafe.

It is Ascension and probably one of the better restaurants in the area... That is all you need to know....

I live right down the road and never consider eating there.

I'd guess it's "successful" because its big enough to seat a lot of people, big tables for big families, and mediocre decor, and seemingly clean. Perfect for mom, and dad can get a couple beers while tolerating the average to disappointing food.

There's plenty of better options in AP. Prairieville food game is at it's best right now... as even the poorly managed Prairieville version of TJ Ribbs couldn't take the heat.

I was pleasantly shocked at the quality of food when Walkons in P'ville opened, and I admit that I eat there way too often. The beer selection is superior to most also. I wonder if the Walkons in Zachary helped put the lights out at the Sammy's up there.

All that said, I wish Sammy's would step up their game. More options are always good.

The talent was the only thing that was ever good about the one in Zachary and when they ran them off, everything else went to crap.

You can have good food and poor talent, but if you are gonna have mediocre food, the talent better be STRONG.

I’ve been in this city for nearly 10 years and I used to be the biggest Sammy’s pumper when I first got here. Everything on the menu was legit and well down. Atmosphere was great. Service was great with hot, girlnextdoor waitresses.

I first noticed a change about 3-5 years ago. The waitress talent declined, the grilled shrimp poboy started coming with like 3 pieces of shrimp on it, prime rib poboy was all fatty and gross, etc. Problems after problems.

Sammy’s is not the same and it saddens me. It used to be so much better
