Isn't the smokehouse guy the one who went after the poster "Napolean" bc he posted a negative review? He had to change his TD handle and all bc it was his real name and the smokehouse guy went all back channel and smoked him out of hiding

Tigerdroppings is not a "thread". I think he was referring to this thread and got confused when he decided to bash it. Really should read the board more often and get educated on it. Might have done him some good to advertise here.

He also probably doesn't realize how many lurkers read this board who don't post at all. And, before you come here as a business person to say anything silly, it's a good idea to look at how many folks post on the site.

Is that why he had to change his handle? Wow. I didn't realize that. That's obsessive sounding. Scary stuff.

Seriously some people sign up for yelp or post reviews here and think they are all of sudden Anthony Bourdain.

I will guess you have little problem with Uber and Apple and they have a history of owners being pricks to paying customers. This is just on a lot smaller level.

I don't think their methods are correct, but I have had no problems with either of these owners and don't really plan to. Don't expect my food to be any different because the guy visited this site and called a spade a spade.

I would guess virtually every restaurant owner has had these types of encounters before, with the internet the shite is permanent though.

Do you really think bad word of mouth is more likely to kill a restaurant today than the days before internet social media?

It's just sort of silly. I certainly don't see it as anything worth getting legitimately pissed off about.

Hard to say, my experience before the internet is pretty limited.

I think people are more food obsessed now than in the past. Bad word of mouth will have people not wanting to visit because they can't brag on it, not because it is bad food.

Sites like Yelp and Urbanspoon can really shape opinions. Hell, this site can make a restaurant. Look at the hype for Shaya. It is just the modern day word of mouth.

I would assume that she does. See her posting in beer threads. Those guys ruffle feathers on the regular, but they sell the best beer in town and stupid good food. Which is all anyone should care about.

Would really put this tread over the top if the owner of Charcoal showed up.

Just think though.. Some of the very posters in this thread have been trolling members for years on here... And they still fall for the troll every time. Pages and pages of it.

Now think how easy it is to troll these non-Internet savy restaurant owners. They probably think this is the worst shite they've ever seen

Are you comparing a sandwich shop to Apple?

And quit circling back around to Stein's as a comparison. Already been over that. Stein's plays the a-hole, I'm from New York geographical stereotype marketing scheme to match the store's environment and authenticity. Nothing at all like what's being discussed about Sammich.

The way you defend both of these owners makes me think you're either friends, family, or involved in some way shape or form with the businesses. If you are, that's cool but be upfront about it.
