Maybe you should just stick to Chili's.
When the fam and I travel west to Houston, we always stop at the one on Beaumont.
Yeah, it's a bit redneck, but the food is damn good for what it is. And at least it is not trying to be some "Creole" restaurant like so many others.

I mean it's a steakhouse for people who think an $80 tab is an anniversary dinner. You get what you pay for.

You go to eat steak at a chain restaurant, and expect the food to be just as good and fresh as though you prepared it. That's one point.
Second point - complaining about everybody being obese in the restaurant. We live in Louisiana buddy. We are one of the fattest states in the country. And speaking of the country, America itself is in an obesity epidemic right now. So to make that out to be like this terrible thing that just hit you by surprise is also ridiculous.
So, I go back to my statement of that maybe you're just in a funky mood and the problem is not the fat people or the frozen shrimp, but the fact that you're in a fricked up state of mind. Because any person with a clear mind walks into a Saltgrass Steakhouse and enjoys their chain restaurant meal and goes on about their business.

No idea, it was called a Landry's membership and included a list of restaurants and other shite like hotels or stores or something. I didnt read it my wife did.
The Landry company is massive now. From Joe's Crab Shack to the Houston Rockets. I think the owner/president bought Waitr last year.

True, but obesity and poverty go hand in hand so at places like that, you'll see more obese people than at nicer spots.

Yes, Tilman Fertita owns it all.

membership and telling us all the rewards points we could get etc. After declining, they continued with the sales pitch throughout the meal
Can you explain this some more?
So they asked you initially. Did they ask when the drinks came out and so on until the meal was over?

I hope you didn't think it's a Michelin 3 star restaurant. It's a slightly better than average steakhouse. Always has been, always will be.
They have a good happy hour, cheap appetizers and cheap drinks. You can leave full and have a solid buzz rolling for about $25 after tip.
All of this. Also you get a side and a soup/salad with your steak so its a fine meal for the price. Nothing that will blow your mind. That butter that comes out with the bread is pretty ballin.

All shrimp in every restaurant are frozen.
Unless the owner is actually going out and catching his own shrimp, they must be processed first.

The thing that really jumps out at me about Louisiana chain restaurants is how ghetto they are compared to other states.
Even at chain restaurants in other states, you're still getting the same quality of food. The service is better, the clientele is better, the restaurant is cleaner, etc.
Louisiana is ghetto as frick in every department.
