Louisiana is ghetto as frick in every department.
Consider the hiring pool.
It's the same in other places too. Inner city will be those types, but in the suburbs, you'll find more upper middle class high school kids working those kinds of jobs.
Sucks when trying to hire, especially during the school year because they can't work until 3 or 4. It was a nightmare to hire baggers.

New one in Covington, maybe that's part of the problem. The salad dressings were very watery for all of us (different dressings). The shrimp came with the steak dish. Normally shrimp at a steakhouse are great but most chains use the frozen shite so that's on me.
We went to the covington one the other day for lunch and thought it was excellent for what it is.
We were never bothered by the rewards card or whatever.

I expected something salacious from the thread title, so to get “rewards card” and “steak was good” was quite a disappointment.

The key point to remember about any chain restaurant is that the experience will vary depending on the competence and attitude of the local management. I have seen this time and again especially between LA & TX. The Saltgrass near our house in Clear Lake is solid. Service is always friendly and prompt. Yes, they always offer the rewards program, who doesn't .
Just like BJ's Brewhouse, the one here is one of our regular places. In BR, maybe not so much because it is easy to notice the difference in the experience. You can't label the whole chain based on what happens in one location.
